We came over to Brisbane 24th Aug 2008, collected our car and caravan and now we are ready to roll! After spending 5 nights in Brisbane , we travelled up to the Sunshine Coast to a Caravan Park at Mudjimba, near Rowan and Jan's place. We had a mad buying spree, setting ourselves up, but are now ready to roll. While up here we have been to Australia Zoo for a day which was very good, been sailing in little boats at Moolooaba and visited Jill and Phil. Rick and Sue have been at Rowan and Jan's for the last few days, so we have had a very social time here. We had planned to leave yesterday, but we had solid rain (that stuff we came here to get away from!!), so we decided to stay ... read more

Hey everyone, Yay for fun stories (well they were fun for me, i don't know how exciting they will seem to you)! Two weekends ago i went to an apartment overlooking the beach with some friends for a nice little bbq. it quickly turned into a very large dinner party (without all the fanciness). lots of great food being cooked up and good people to talk to. i think all but 2 people there were internationals. Mostly from germany and france. Its funny how easily you can get lost in a conversation when everyone is speaking a different language. I found it funny how many people i knew at the party from classes. Well at the bbq (okay, it wasnt a real bbq b/c the grill was broken) i got to try kangaroo! I have been ... read more

So, the week kicked off with Della seeing her first "roo"! The day i decided to stay at the house! Something to with the Law of Sod me thinks! We had just had a torrential downpour and the sun was shining again when Della and Sue went out to the local shops - en route they saw not just one kangaroo at the roadside but a whole "herd" of them......how cool is that??!! Next time i'll be going to the shops! The weather is warmer with each day - Winter is almost over and Spring is just around the corner........well, that's what the weather man keeps telling us - seems like summer to us Northern Hemisphere gals!!! We have taken "Sally" (the miniature poodle we are looking after), to the beach every day and whilst on ... read more

Our final night in Sydney had arrived and to mark the occasion we went for a superb dinner at a local restaurant - we enjoyed an exquisite meal - blue-eyed trevalla (a first for us, similar to cod and delicious), baked with a brioche crust and served on a bed of eggplant puree with pesto and asparagus - and, if the main dish was not enough to delight our tastebuds the dessert was heaven on earth!! It is unusual for us to opt for dessert usually favouring a starter but, when we saw those three little words: warm, chocolate and pudding we could not resist!!!! All of which was washed down with a crisp, cool Pinot Grigio - what more could two "girls" want??!! The day of our departure saw us give Harry & Sadie (our ... read more

Our first week here has been superb! The weather has been for the most part, sunny and warm during the day with clear blue skies and a tad chilly in the evenings! We are looking forward to Spring! We have explored the Sunshine Coast from Caloundra in the south to the Noosa Heads in the north and it has been fantastic! The start of the Sunshine Coast is the unremarkable town of Caboolture and north from here is the Glass House Mountains National Park - nine dramatic, isolated pinnacles jutting out of a flat plain, visible from as far away as Brisbane. Coastwards and a little north of the Glass House Mountains, Caloundra is a small seaside town - we spent a very pleasant afternoon strolling along the boardwalk and spotting several shore birds (with the ... read more

We were hoping this part of the journey along the Sunshine Coast would be fairly quiet and we could enjoy entertaining ourselves. To be honest, we were really not enjoying the Australian people and were quite content camping at the side of the road and driving the beatiful coast! There isn't much to speak of here! Sorry for the boring entry!... read more

Hey everyone, I realized that i have not updated in a long time (mainly b/c i had a few people send some scathing messages). My apologies. So I have been here for over a month now. Wow. At times I do forget that i am in Australia; like when i am bored in class, hanging out with friends, studying (hahaha). And then i see a kangaroo outside and remember. Btw- I have still seen at least one kangaroo a day since i have been here. Its going to be a sad day when that happens. There is a giant kangaroo here named Steve. He is much larger than any of the other roos. Unfortunately, i have yet to see him. I went to the Gold Coast two weeks back with a group of people. Gold Coast ... read more

July 25th marked our final day of classes/work before our much needed week of summer vacation. All day I was itching to get out, to get home and pack and then catch a bus to In Cheon International and get on with my trip! After school Mickey and I went home and got our selves and our stuff ready and around 10pm we headed downtown to the bus station to get tickets and leave. Unfortunately the first bus to In Cheon leaves at 1240am which meant that we had some waiting time! We sat in the terminal and watched some random Korean television and Mickey gave me a lesson on how to not only beat the levels on my DS game but how to find secrets...apparently I missed all of that stuff growing up! When the ... read more
