Hello After a rough start everthing worked out, well not exactly perfect, but it's getting better. I have bought a car and I moved on from Brisbane. Right now I'm in a little town called Bargara. I came here for a job- tomato picking!-but the conditions were really bad, like even if you work the whole day long, the money is still not enough to pay the rent for a lousy 4-bed dorm. The season is still low, but they all say it's getting better within a week. So I slept for one night in a nasty 8-bed dorm. That was enough. I met Keith, a guy from California, who was also looking for a place to stay and he found a house. So we splitted the rent and it is the same price now like ... read more

We have now travelled more than 9000 kms. Fuel economy remains just under 15 litres per 100 km and we are pleased with that. The really good news is that Rhonda has had the pins removed from her wrist and the plaster taken off. We went to Brisbane on the 8th September for the appointment with the specialist . She is now wearing a brace until she is confident enough to go without it. A physiotherapy program has been implemented but it will take a few months to get back to something near normal. Bargara Our stay at Bargara near Bundaberg was for three nights. The onboard satellite navigation system brought us on an inland highway rather than the Bruce as the shortest trip. We rocked and rolled a fair bit as the road was 'variable' ... read more

We woke up in a giant campsite by the river, and the weather didnt look too bad. After a lazy morning and passing our standard brekky (beans and eggs) for creamed rice and bannana (interesting); a little bit of frizbee, we were on the road looking for Bundaberg. Now according to the swedes, theres nothing in Bundy apart from the rum factory; so it would be rude not to wouldnt it? The tour started at 2pm and we went for the 'gold' ticket, which meant we got given two tours and two tastings! After Dale's issues with the Rosser's, we knew we had to be a bit careful. Unfortunately for Mark it was his stint, so he was the one having to watch out. We all agreed the factory tour was interesting and well worth doing; ... read more

I have been absolutely terrible at keeping this up. Not a big shock though.. I had a feeling I wouldnt do well. At least I've been good at puttin up pictures right? Anyway, so I am in a town called Bundaberg right now. I've actuallyspent entirely too much time in this town. In total I've been here about... 5 weeks. I came here after my holiday to work for a bit, then I took off down to Brisbane/Byron Bay/Surfers Paradise to meet Chris and chill out again. Which was amaaaazing, but now back to work. Bundaberg is the most random little town. It has a pharmacy in a church. I mean, who does that ? Personally I like to call it the “Drug Church.” haha. There isn't a lot to do here, which I am fairly ... read more

The rain has started yesterday, and it does not seem like stopping! The 2 night's stay in the fruit-picker's hostel were pretty shabby. No blankets were provided, although it was already getting cold outside during the night, and the chance to get a good sleep during the night in the 4-bed dorm was pretty little, as some mates came home pretty late and drunk, and one mate had to get to work at 4:30am . But you get used to it pretty soon ;-) ... Thank god I only planned for 3 days in this small town. The first day I joined a guided tour through Bundaberg's famous rum distillery. The worst ever merchandised tour I have seen so far. At the free Bundy tasting at the end of the tour, Katja and Martin from Switzerland ... read more

Since I was not much fun with my broken toe, Brett decided to leave me with the other patient (his uncle) here in Wollongong. And with his aunt to look after us cripples, we were both in good hands. Not much happened in 2 weeks with us - just a lot of movies, crossword puzzles, reading and the 2 of us gimps even managed to bottle a batch of beer. Another 90 tallies got put down, and Brett would be proud his wife is bottling beer for him. Brett headed up to Woodgate Beach to work on another skateboard park which is a small little coastal town in Queensland about 40 minutes south of Bundaberg, and an hour north of Hervey Bay, one of the access points to Fraser Island. The first 4 days were spent ... read more
