Well, i'm leaving tomorrow and it is all a little surreal. I arrived back up here about 10 days ago. If it wasn't for my mum and Cathy i never would have made it out od Canberra - Thanks! I've lost and found many things this week. I've managed to get almost everything that i needed to do done, even some Christmas presents.. no cards though - sorry about that! I will be leaving tomorrow at 0945 out of Tamworth Airport for Sydney, then Sydney to LA. To keep me company i will have Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, ear plugs and a sleeping mask! I've had "Christmas" lunch with my grandmother and my parents and sisters (little brother couldn't get away from school) and given all my copies of my thesis away. It ... read more

The time has come to move to our flat in Coogee. The alarm from my phone began as the introduction to Kanye West, "Golddigger" belted out from the small speaker on the back, I rolled over to instantly hit the snooze button, which seemed a standard thing to do everytime anyones alarm started ringing. 9 minutes later "She takes ma money..." shreaks out once again so I sit up to consider climbing down the cold metal ladder from the top bunk. The rest of the guys were still sleeping until someone elses phone begins ringing out it's annoying alarm tone. They each in turn begin to stirr and the general grunts, yawns and tired eyes awaken. Through the tiredness excitment begins to brew as we are due to check out and move to our house on ... read more

The time is almost at hand Buster fans. This time next week Joe and I will be flying off to our date with destiny (and Tez) in compelling Cambodia. As the three G1s finally come together in a mighty consummation of all things Busterific the very Earth may slightly wobble on it's axis. These are great times, indeed! I would also like to take this moment to sing the praise of the Buster wives. They have been nothing but supportive, encouraging and almost zealous in their love of The Busters. A special salute is in order for Buster Wilson's wife who, despite a few small problems arising unexpectantly, has remained The Buster's biggest devotee. It seems that the Wilson family will be moving into a new house on Dec. 8 and Joe will be bailing out ... read more

Awareness Intensive Retreat @ Samaya (Rosebank) I’m speechless, and still. All is so still. Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree… frogs on all paths and wallabies waller by…“What is true?” we ask ourselves, to each other. Intellectual introspective. An unfolding, a journey ensues. Silence follows. Stubborness, boredom, tears of laughter - at them, with them, tears of depth, sadness, loneliness, “What can I accept?”. Revelations. Face to face I see myself and the other. “What is my heart’s desire?”. Profundity, sacredness, precious, heart connection, deep and true, nothing goes further - this is it - joy… Such stillness sinks in the heat of Samaya, the fowl wallow and the mozzies continue to feed, all glorious in this moment. Well today was the 1 year anniversary of the Sydneysiders "Cookery Club", and it turned out to be an alcohol fuelled, food frenzy extravaganza of a banquet. With a few people unable to make it for the evening (They missed out). There were 9 of us in total each having cooked a special meal for the others, so with 9 different meals to eat, you can imagine there was the necessity of course for an even larger amount of alcohol required to wash it all down with. After the bbq a fish off was held with a few of us taking to casting out into the warm waters to reel em in. After my first fishing endeavour the previous week, I didn't manage to catch a thing so it was just as well I had eaten ... read more

Not much to up date but took a trip to Bondi beach... wicked! Very touristy and very crowded, but lots, and I mean lots of good looking people there. Colin and I bought the Ozzie uniform... some board shorts, very cool ones (mine are Rip Curl) with which they were giving away free Rip Curl thongs (or flip flops for you Brits!), brilliant. We now almost look ready to move to the beach, still missing a tan though, Doh! I took a wee walk down to the opera house to go sit in the sun and work on that tan, was really lovely down there, I sat on my own on the gorgeous gleaming green grass and read my book (The Da Vinci Code, a bit cliche I know, but hey it's good!). The other guys ... read more

Jereme was at the airport welcoming us to Australia. It had been four years since we were here the last time and it felt as if we were coming back home. Three months in Nepal and India was enough and we were glad to have a break from third world countries before continuing to South-America. We stayed in Coogee with Jereme and his flat mates. Coogee is a nice beach place, quite touristy but less than Bondi and only 20 minutes from the city. The first couple of days we tried to work out the situation with our broken digital camera, trying to get it fixed but ended up buying a new one. Sami got a new toy and hopefully the pictures in the blog will improve. Just a couple of weeks before coming to Sydney ... read more
