Oli Casting Off!Oli Casting Off!Oli Casting Off!

Apparently this is how to do it...or so Ollie says ;)
Well today was the 1 year anniversary of the Sydneysiders "Cookery Club", and it turned out to be an alcohol fuelled, food frenzy extravaganza of a banquet. With a few people unable to make it for the evening (They missed out). There were 9 of us in total each having cooked a special meal for the others, so with 9 different meals to eat, you can imagine there was the necessity of course for an even larger amount of alcohol required to wash it all down with.

After the bbq a fish off was held with a few of us taking to casting out into the warm waters to reel em in. After my first fishing endeavour the previous week, I didn't manage to catch a thing so it was just as well I had eaten at the BBQ as I would have gone hungry if relying on my fishing capabilities to feed myself for the night 😉

Jules however, one of the lads from East Ham (I think) managed to reel in a baby Octopus, probably about the size of my arm, which shocked all of us.

Even Ollie caught a fish after failing the other day,

Much as I mocked Oli's casting capabilities it wasn't to long before he put me in my place with this beauty;)
and was very pleased with his catch too about the size of his hand (he has quite big hands though).

All in all a great night was had by all, except of course the female partners of everyone there as they of course are banned from the weekly Cookery Club get togethers much to their annoyance and the lads amusement.

As if reeling it in with a metal hook didn't traumatise the Octopus enough, Jules decides to drop it on the floor!
