NEW YORK CITY Ahhh, the Big Apple! What’s not to love?? The purpose…Food & Theater. Pretty simple really. Felicia, Lindsay and I caught the redeye out of Long Beach and we were off. The Waldorf Astoria was not so thrilled as we arrived before 6:00 a.m. and was even less than willing to actually check us into our room. Instead we wandered around town. Sadly, we decided NOT to go see Tom Cruise tape the Today Show because we figured it would be mayhem. Boy were we right! I think it would have been worth it though if I ‘d known Tom was gonna lose it, go off his meds and rip Matt Lauer a new one for being “glib”. Oh well. After a morning of wandering, we napped in the lobby of the hotel (thinking ... read more

I went to go see my sister over the 4th of July weekend in 2005. I hadn't seen Sis and her family in 4 years. Before I got to Seattle, I asked her if she would mind if my nephew, Will would be able to come to Victoria with me for an overnight trip. I figured he would be happy to see a change in scenery and it would give us the chance to catch up over the years that we've missed. Both were delighted at the opportunity and I was happy to play tour guide. Will and I left Seattle early in the morning via the Victoria Clipper. The ferry ride is about a 3 hour ride, so it provided Will and I the chance to talk and snack on some goodies that the ferry ... read more

Getting there We started for airport in the afternoon for flight to Kona at 2:55p.m. Flight was on time and totally full. Most of the people got off at Maui our first stop and a more popular holiday destination. We reached Kona airport by 7:00pm. The airport was a big surprise. We were expecting it to be small, but this was, well... lets say very different. First we got off the plane by a ladder, the old fashioned way. The airport was a set of huts, yes, thatch roof huts, no air-conditioning, no sophisticated machinery, a very primitive nice airport. From the airport we headed off to get the car. Getting the car took looong time, waiting outside in warm air, looking at other people arriving. Then when it was our turn, they upgraded us to ... read more

Now you want to have a crazy time, go houseboating on the Shushwap lake in the BC rockies in Canada. I highly recommend it at least once. Specifically, stay at Nelson beach and you will party in a way you never have before. I've never seen or experienced anything like it. My liver won't forget it for a while :) It's a lot of T and A, little sleep and fun fun fun! Also, beautiful scenery if you take the time to enjoy and take it in during the day, and it IS more relaxing during the day time, touring the lake and swimming or such. It can be a peaceful trip if you choose, it just wasn't what our trip was made to be :) Specifically, this trip was for a stagette (hen party)... Need ... read more

Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico 23:00 Today I made a decision. I decided to share everything what I know, have and do with you guys. I decided to start writing a daily diary in a blog. I want to share with you the best and the worst of me. You can’t imagine how many interesting things I experience on a daily bases and it would just be so selfish to keep it all for me. I’ve been writing monthly or weekly reports for almost a year, but I feel they are not and cannot be the real reflexion of me and my journey. From now on I wish to share moments that I feel happy and moments that I feel sad. I want to tell you about moments of fears and frustrations and about moments of highest happiness. ... read more

Go the Tigers! I was so pumped to be getting out of camp, even though we get weekends and afternoons off we can only go somewhere if the American staff take us out. And since I was with Detroit fans and I was staying in Michigan I became a Detroit tigers fan. We finished on Friday and got set and Ying drove us to Detroit. But in his little 2 door sporty car we had me and him in the front and Gaby from Mexico, Sara from Denmark, Nstia from Russia and aika from Kazakhstan in the back. So the car was riding low to the ground. We get to Detroit and couldn't find the stadium so we drove around the ghetto in Detroit for a while trying to find out where to go. So we ... read more

I finally got out of that huge city that was New York, and into a much younger population in the student populated city of Boston! Forgive that long and possibly strange sentence, it's just that with a new place comes new enthusiasm for this place. However, that is all in the now, but I'm going to move back to yesterday where I left it. But, before I go there, I just want to say that I caught up on the Big Brother news. Has there been some arguments or what?! Ok, for real this time. After I left the internet cafe yesterday, I thought I'd try and catch up with Willie after the show he saw, which was 'Phantom Of The Opera'. There were so many people coming out of that place, I swear I thought ... read more
