I am one of those who never knows the direction of my journey until I have almost arrived. --Anna Louise Strong web sites Grayton Beach State Park February 8,2005 Grayton Beach is another great beach, but for some reason we can’t find the photos from this location. We met a gentleman with a Sprinter, he had it converted by a company in Texas. He had a plan of what he wanted. His ideas were no bathroom or stove. The workman ship was very good. With limited space, everything is a compromise, it just depends on what you want. I am sure we will see more Sprinters, they are becoming very popular. Through travel I first became aware of the outside world; it was through travel that I found my own introspective way into becoming a ... read more

Well what a town, or should we say "Light Show". We arrived in Vegas on the 5th of Feb. After we left San Diego we hit the freeway once again and made our way into Arizona. We stopped in a little town called Parker. There was an influx of people for a Desert Race and there was very little Accommodation. We managed to find a place and then checked out the local Casino. The sun rises and we hit the road yet again bound for a little town called Williams on the famous Route 66. We dropped our luggage off in our hotel and went strait to the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon's name justifies the site, we have seen pictures and video's, but you really have to be there to appreciate the full scale of ... read more

It is good to have an end to journey towards, but it is the journey that matters in the end. --Ursula K. LeGuin . web sites Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort Locating a campground with wireless service is a find. So we moved from St. Andrew’s to Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort. Wow! What a wonderful resort. It has paved sites, manicured lawns, laundry facilities, immaculate bath/shower, pool, wireless, and more. This is a clean up day, while I hit the laundry room Bob finished up the travelblogs. Of course, we found time for a swim in the heated pool. Now we are getting ready for dinner out and a movie. Our dinner was at Shuckem’s Oyster House. We had a sampling of different cooked oysters in the shell. Both of us liked them. The ... read more

We got three more inches of snow last night. Pam is feeling even worse than yesterday. Katherine seems to be better, and I'm almost back to normal. Katherine kept me up again last night, so (just for revenge) I made her shovel snow this morning.... read more

It’s snowing again. (We're under a snow advisory until 11pm Monday night.) Everything looks lovely with a fresh layer of snow over it. This morning we got as much rest as we could, trying to recover from our colds. Katherine only woke up twice last night. I think she’s feeling much better. This afternoon we walked to the grocery store. Katherine liked playing in the snow again. We didn't see any of the Super Bowl, but Katherine thought the Puppy Bowl on animal planet was mildly entertaining. Pam’s neighbors brought us homemade cookies that were delicious.... read more

Stop worrying about the potholes in the road and enjoy the journey. --Babs Hoffman WEB Site St Andrews State Park The morning was a bit cool and windy, and I was off for a bike ride, and “Computer Bob” was busy organizing the blog. Our first PM stop was to Diver’s Den, where we purchased snorkel equipment. Hopefully we will use it in Hawaii. We had some lunch at Scampy’s and then moved on to the beach. Kite flying was on our mind, but the wind had subsided. So we just walked, until Bob suddenly ran and jumped into the ocean. It was a bit nippy. Back at the campsite we had a light meal and some Super Bowl. ... read more

Hey everyone We are already home in Calgary but thought I would write one more log for our weekend in SF. Did some touristy things, but first things first, went to the North Face outlet in Berkely (took the light rail then a bus) but unfortunately they were weak in the clearance dept. However I bought some quick dry shirts for cheap for working out and hiking. Went to the Royal Robbins outlet and bought some clothes there, but no cheap down jackets anywhere to be seen.... Diane, I'm sure that we went by your old house (was it 1825, on the bus route??) Great memories from my last visit, but we took it easy. We were so tired after being awake essentially 24 hours that we fell asleep on the train back, had a nap, ... read more

Today we drove to Idaho. It was a beautiful drive, because near us all the flat land was covered in snow, and beyond that we could see snow-covered mountains. Idaho is only 20 minutes from Logan. We passed the Pepperidge Farm factory in Richmond, Utah and went all the way to the town in Idaho where they filmed Napoleon Dynamite.... read more

Katherine hasn't been feeling well. She was up last night from 1:00 to 5:00 a.m. Then she slept in my bed for 2 hours, and got up for breakfast. After a night of listening to crying, we were looking forward to nap time, but Katherine didn't take a nap. Pam got a guinea pig today. His name is Jeremiah and he's extra sweet. Katherine wanted to look at the guinea pig all the way home and she actually said her first complete sentence in the car. "It's my pig!" We're supposed to have snow showers tomorrow and Monday. Maybe we'll be able to catch up on our sleep.... read more

Horses, cows, calves, bulls, clowns, cowboys and cowgirls. . . We attended the Los Fresnos PRCA 16th Annual Rodeo. We arrived a little early so walked around the carnival grounds and found some food booths. Kathy had a turkey leg and Will picked a briquette sandwich. The wrap the turkey leg in tinfoil and put it over a mesquite wood grill. The meat is so juicy and just melts in your mouth. We watched the hog judging while we ate. The Rodeo started about 3pm with the bull rides. Then came the roping events and the bucking horses. Last was the barrel racing the girls go. We watched world champions like Guy Allen, steer roper, Speed Williams, team roper, Monte Lewis, tie-down roper, Dustin Elliott, bull rider and Kelly Kaminski, barrel racer. The entertainment was Allen ... read more
