Today was our day out at San Diego Sea World. This day was also the coldest and windiest day we have come across. We were not prepared for it as it was a sunny day yesterday so we thought the same and wore thongs and a light weight jumper- big mistake. Anyway so the day consisted of visiting the marine life of sea worlds some animals we had seen before in Gold Coast's Sea World and some we have not. We went to a killer whale show- there for 4 killer whales but they have the show focused on one - Shamu. Apparently he attacked on of the trainers last week or sum thing- but all was good today. We used San Diego as a launching pad for a day-trip to Tijuana, and found a very central hostel in the downtown Glaslamp quarters. This used to be the seedier side of town, but is now the hippest part (so we were told). San Diego is a small town though, in comparison to NYC and LA, and it shows. We walked around for a bit, got a bite to eat and saw Rocky Balboa. Not one of the best movies we've seen, but worth a DVD-rental. Went to bed early to be fresh for Mexico... eh, Tijuana anyway. Bem, depois de um dia tumutuado, 15 de Dezembro, não vale apena colocar aqui o que aconteceu, exceto o fato de eu esquecer minha máquina em cima de um orelhão, e depois de uma hora eu recuperei a mesma! heheh Nesse dia aconteceu muita coisa, fizemos o check-out do hotel, pegamos a conduçao free pro aeroporto, e ao chegar lá.... Esqueci minha jacketa... cabecao... e agora se vira nos embromations como pedir pra trazer a jaqueta... com muito esforço eu consegui, mas não me pergunta como. hehhehee Consegui recuperar minha jaqueta porém perdemos o vôo... Tristeza.... Agora pior ainda... tenta conseguir um outro avião pra SD!!!!!! Conseguimos, mas esperemo mais duas horas pra embarcar direto pra Los Angeles e de lá San Diego... We're 2 people who lived across the hall in the UCSD college dorms. Our friendship was unlikely since we didn't have the greatest impressions of eachother. He quickly labeled me as a creepy chick and I saw him as Beavis and Butthead trapped in a giant Asian body. The lines of communication opened up when he came knocking on my door asking if I'd help him with his art project (turned him into a crossdresser for 3 days, haha). Fastforward 12 years later: We're great friends and embarking on a crazy, mad dash journey throughout Southeast Asia. The vacation lasts 3 weeks and Week 1 will be in South Korea where Jeong currently resides. Have finished our short time in San Diego. Was a lovely place but not enough time to see everything. There's a big park called Balboa park in the centre where it seems to be the main hub. Has about 12 museums as well as the zoo. We didn't make it to the zoo but did get to wonder round a few museums. Bit more cultural than vegas anyway!! Went to Sea World yesterday which was really good. And after that have made ourway to L.A for our next few days... read more
