The day has dawned for Bree as we set off at 9.00 for Disneyland, just across the street, the crowds even at that time are huge but organised. Entering the park was like entering another world, to coin a cliché and deciding what to do was quite a challenge. During the day the crowds got even larger if that was possible and as we had to leave at 4.00 we had to rush somewhat. With the rides done we left the park to return to the hotel to shower and change for the evenings festivities, a trip to Medieval Times, a show and meal spectacular located at Buena Park some 10 minutes from our Hotel. The dinner and show were spectacular and comprised of a Medieval show with horses and knights and mock battles and a ... read more

Arriving back at Long Beach around 7.00am we debarked at 10.00 and returned to the states via the gang plank and customs. Finding the luggage was a breeze but getting the shuttle was a little different. As we were going to Anaheim which is about an hours drive from Long Beach the drivers were not too keen and seemed to want the close trips to the airport etc. Finally securing a ride we arrived at the hotel outside Disneyland around 1pm. The Carousel Inn is a small motel type place, clean comfortable with great staff and above all quite cheap for Disneyland. With only a part day left we decided to visit Disneytown, a free entry shopping area adjacent to Disneyland itself. Worth visiting but only for shopping which is sooooo expensive... read more

Another action packed day! Must say that now I'm totally beat and am really over all the rides and attractions and can't wait for a full day off to sleep. We have front of the line passes for all the Universal Studio rides and shows. Which was good but que's weren't even that long today. We went on several rides two or three times. Probably the worst thing we brought was a "all you can eat" pass for $22 each. Essentially you can eat what you want from 4 different locations. The catch??? It's all the same food and it all tastes like reheated food from yesterday. The burger are ok, the cookies were 50% hard and the rest average - it was disappointing really. Universal Studios really has the most amazing views of San Fernando ... read more

The Good: Shopping in LA @ the Citadel which is a factory outlet shopping centre. Calvin Klein was $160 for pair of work pants, work shirt, work belt, awesome new bag. Considering the price in Australia for a single one of these items would be close to that I'm stoked. I also got a leather jacket that actually fits me from Wilson's Leather which was having a huge clearance sales - plus we had coupons thanks to the nice man at the map we pointed us around and hinted if we asked reception for a coupon book we'd get one. We did. It saved us around 10-15% per place we shopped at. Another good thing, I drove in LA traffic, on the huge multi-lane highway system they have here and made it in one piece. Used ... read more

Looks like I can't actually update with photos and video at the moment. Due to some hotel setting which I'll have to figure out soon. I'm sitting in the lobby of the Sheraton Park Hotel, a truly wonderful hotel at which I will buy a beer as soon as I figure out how to get cash from my room without leaving my seat.... The flight was so boring, I truly think it was a kind of mental torment. I hate all virgin movies now, and all music and "radio" The food was very much like airplane food but at least the service was nice. I didn't sleep at all - it had nothing to do with excitement, QUITE the opposite! The drone of the plane, the boredom, the confined space. Jihye fared better and slept alittle. ... read more

Hi I have sorted some pics to go with the last couple of days. Just on the way home from the most amazing fireworks display I have ever seen. Wow. The every night fireworks display. Maybe 15,000 people were there with us. I am a convert. I had a negative attitude to to Disneyland but I am willing to admit I was wrong. We had a great time. It was absolutely beautiful and a pleasant fun, friendly entertaining time was had by us both. Enjoy the pics.... read more

What a flight. Longest I have sat in one place in my life. Watched heaps of movies on the plane. The King's Speech, Black Swan and heaps of My Name is Earl. Not much sleep but very excited. Just getting on the freeway in the shuttle was an eye-opener. I had been warned that it was a culture shock. I have never seen so much concrete and so many strange cars. Freeway and over passes everywhere. Today was Disney Day. Fantastic. a blast and I have to get dinner at Dennys and get to the fire works at 9:30... read more

Well all things must come to an end and so it is with this holiday. I was up early as I had to see if the Car would start OK whch it did. I then decided to go for a drive to Wal-Mart one last time as I had to pick up a few goodies for a workmate back home. I also picked up a birthday present for Luke to bring home (can't say what it is in case he reads this blog before 6th March !). Got back around 10AM, and got all the bags packed up and I was a bit frustrated that the electronic luggage weighing gadget (I think that's the technical term for it) was not working . We knew we were allowed to have 2 checked pieces each with a combined ... read more

Today is our last day after 1 month, we leave LA at 9pm tonight and arrive in Sydney at 6.35am on Australia Day. We've enjoyed our last days here with Sue, Boy and Rose. On Saturday we went to San Diego, on the way we stopped at a lookout with lot's of squirrels and a shopping outlet complex, I was able to get a good buy on some shirts. We then continued to San Diego stopping at a nice park for some photos then collected Rose from the airport. San Diego is about an hour and a half drive from Anaheim, the traffic was OK so we weren't held up. Our first stop after getting Rose was Broadway Pier where the cruise ships dock, there was a market there and a band playing, there wasn't much ... read more

We woke up around 9.30AM but given the late night we took a while to get going. It was around 11.00AM by the time we left the room so it was too late to use the continental breakfast downstairs. We went down the road to Millie’s which is an all day diner. Breakfast here was really good. Kerry & I had eggs on toast with some toast, whilst Luke had a massive pancake on the side. We then headed into California Adventure Park as we still had 2 days of our 4 day passes to be used. First up Luke & I went on the Hollywood Tower Hotel ride which was good, and then we all went on a few rides in the Ant Section. Next up we went to the Paradise Pier area where we ... read more
