Well I awoke around 6.30AM and peeped out the windows to see that we had arrived back at San Pedro Pier. We had chosen to do the self disembarkation which allowed us to take our own luggage off the ship. We had to meet in the Explorer’s Lounge at 8.15AM, so after our last breakfast in the Horizon Court Buffet we grabbed our luggage and headed to the elevators to go from our Deck 12 to Deck 7. Only problem is that the other 2,600 passengers were probably trying to use them as well. Luke & I decided to walk down the stairs but by the time I got to the Deck 7 I had regretted this as I was carrying a backpack full of cameras and heavy stuff and two large suitcases by hand. Another great night’s sleep by all and weather is unreal. Today there are forecasting a max of 27 degrees. Can you believe it ! I checked Atlanta and is is a max of 1. I am walking around in thongs (on my feet !). Another continental breakfast and then we decided to take on the suitcase changeover. We will have no need to take all the warm clothing on the Cruise so we decided to convert from 7 suitcases to 3, and leave the two largest ones an two smallest behind at the Hotel (since we are coming back here again). Well wasn’t that a challenge ! Anyway we got all that done and it was lunch time by the time we were ready to leave the room. Today we were headed for the grand old ... read more

Well after some nice sleep we awoke around 10.00AM and too late for breakfast. Had a look at our room as did not even notice it when we arrived. We have a 2 room suite with King Bed and lounge in main room with microwave and small fridge. Second room has two queen beds and bathroom. Very comfortable beds and everyone slept really well. So we headed down the street to IHOP which serves breakkie all day long. Eggs on Toast (over easy is the go) with some coffee. Great weather with sunny day and about 24 degrees. We bought a 4 day Disneyland Park Hopper ticket which cost $216- each (I wish they would charge children children’s prices until they are not children any more !). These tickets allow you to leave Disneyland and go ... read more

Well the day started pretty much the same as yesterday. Opened the blinds to see a pile of snow in the courtyard. After breakfast Kerry & I went and had a look outside to see how things looked. A couple of the hotel workers were trying to shovel snow from the driveway to make access better. The roads were still a mess and sidewalks pretty slippery too. I decided that since the MARTA train station was only 50 metres away (just across the road) we should try and catch the train to the CBD which is 5 stops away as we were pretty sure they would have this area cleaned up by now. I first checked on the Internet to find out that the World of Coca-Cola Museum was not opened, then I found out the ... read more

DAY 2: 27 SEPT 2010 We decided to spend the entire day at Disneyland's California Adventure Park.Since we had purchased the ticket online there was no hassle of standing in queues. The day can be best described in pictures;a new thing done was eating turkey leg which was so big that even the 3 of us could not savour it fully.... read more

Well we arrived slightly ahead of time after a 12.5 hour flight on VAustralia. Flight was bright & airy, but leg room pretty cramped, entertainment systems really good but I had the one seat with a problem with speaker only working through one channel (not great for stereo !). The fancy internal cabin mood light show once we landed at LAX was great but we were tired and just wanted to get off. No need for PC, IPODS, DS Lite as their systems has it all. I even got to hear Johnny Cash to warm me up for later on the trip when "We're goin' to Jackson". Luke had got the flu the day before we left so he had about 7-8 nose bleeds but he did not complain and toughed it out. Elise had the ... read more

Welcome to LA peoples!! But, this is about our last few days in Lima, Peru, South America, more to come from LA in another blog, for now, lets try and get up to date!! So, we did write this blog 2 days ago, sitting in the airport in Lima, but the internet cut out without being able to save it, so here goes.... We left you as we arrived in Lima, and because we had left our tour leaders, we were a little unsure about what to do when we got to Lima. We were just hoping to find the little guy with "Tucan Travel" on a sign in the airport. Luckily for us, that was easier than we thought!! :) Our group of about 14 jumped into the waiting mini-vans, and then somehow survived the ... read more

10-20-10 There is a laundry facility at the OK RV Park, so we got that started this morning and worked around the coach with a little maintenance...G checked the water level in the batteries, we changed the water filters, etc. I went back over to check on the laundry and met the nicest couple from Georgia. They have been on the road 10 days in their Lincoln pulling a tent-trailer. They have always liked to travel, so having recently retired, they decided to hit the road!! No generator, so they’re forced to stay at sites with hookups...unlucky!! She was used to always hanging her laundry outside on the line, so she was mystified by the dryer...she was trying to keep things from getting too wrinkled...I suggested she wouldn’t be so particular after a few more days ... read more

October 15, 2010 This was my first big Disney event, and by far one of the most memorable visits. I had a blast at the Halloween party! The decorations, the characters, and the whole atmosphere was amped up for Halloween. We arrived at the park in our street clothes, but changed into our costumes immediately after checking in. There are lockers just off the main entrance which we used to store our bags. The park had not yet closed to day visitors, and it was amusing to see the looks on the other guests faces as Kyla and I walked past as Pocahontas and Snow White, respectively. As the event start time drew near, more people in costumes came into the park. I think Disney has a patented method for crowd control - it was amazing ... read more

October 14, 2010 While not as experienced as say, an annual pass holder, several trips to Disneyland has afforded me knowledge through trial and error. This is a break-down of how I maximize my days at the Happiest Place on Earth. Touring the Park Research before you go. I know, some people love surprises. But for the amount of money it costs for four days at Disneyland, just do a little reading. The park website is very user-friendly, and instantly you can access ride descriptions, park hours, entertainment schedules, ride closures, and other resort information. Making a general plan will help economize your group’s time in the park. Front-load your day. This means going straight for your favorite rides, or the most popular rides, before the crowds hit a couple hours after the parks open. All ... read more
