Well it is the day before I leave and I'm really happy! It has been a long awaited journey and I'm really excited to meet up with Stephan and the unknown Rene. I'm doing this entry on my own, but as of Friday March 3rd it will include the 3 of us. The boys have already been on their own journey for over 60 days. They have been mainly working on the harvest trail picking fruit. Until next time... Much Love, Rhea... read more

Howdy, I've made my way across Canada, from Cape Spear in Newfoundland to Vancouver on the Pacific Coast in British Columbia. Canada travails 6 time zones from East to West (GMT -3.5 to -8). While in Toronto I spent some time with my sisters. I don't mean to brag, but my niece Ciara is one of the cutest little girls on the planet (see photos below). My sister Sandra joined me out west. We flew to Calgary and spent a night at The Chateau Lake Louise, where upon check-in, we were informed that our room had been upgraded to a 'Fairmont Gold Suite,' with compliments! Magnificent hotel and a magic suite. Lake Louise was frozen over and covered in snow so I didn't get to see its unique green colour.... next time I guess... Our taxi ... read more

A big thank you to all of the very special students at WJ Mouatt as well as the teachers that raised 4 boxes of supplies for the Pakistani earthquake victims. Galib & I visited the highschool in Abbotsford today and picked up the supplies. We are touched by all of the items that were donated: mittens, gloves, scarves, socks, tomato paste and vitamin C. These items will help so many people at the Camp as one cannot readily purchase these things in town. The current temperature at night in Camp Chitta Batta lowers to -5 degrees. Another big thank you goes out to the Richmond Youth Service Agency who donated a significant amount of funds which will be used to purchase more supplies once we arrive in Islamabad. Only 2 more sleeps and we being are ... read more

We are back in Toronto (pronounced Ta-Ron-O)....today we went to the CN tower which was built for some sort of telecommunications interchange and is the worlds tallest free-standing building...its very tall!...on the observation deck they have a glass floor so you can see right down to the ground...its a very cool thing to do but very very disconcerting. we loved our time in Montreal....what a great place :) as i have said before it was so so cold...our last night there it was -18 degrees celcius...thats cold right? yeah damn right its cold....and thats before you take into account the wind chill. So its testamanet to the town that its still so good despite the debilatating weather. We drove back in our bronze pontiac to toronto...it took 12 hours...and it shouldnt have. We took a worng ... read more

Soo.. After a week of temperatures above zero it was time for some snow again.. Skiing!! The skiclub organized a trip to Fernie, which was a really great offer, only 55 dollars for the bus ride, lift ticket, a ten-dollar lunch voucher and a voucher for two beers. The only downside was, we had to be at the bus at 4.30.. Add a huge sleep deficit I still had from the Vancouver trip to that, and you might be able to imagine my state that morning :S. And of course the bus was late, so we had to wait like half an hour in the freezing cold.. The only thing I could think of was: I could have stayed in my nice and warm bed for an extra half hour.. Grr.. Finally, a freezing-cold school bus ... read more

Yes, it's true, my dearest Galib planned a very romantic evening on Saturday, February 25th, 2006. He proposed in his apartment and of course I said yes!!! Galib then surprised me with a private table at the Macaroni Grill, one of our favorite restaurants. Bring out the bubbly! We could not be happier. Yesterday, both of our families celebrated the engagement together in Burnaby. And...we are also pleased to announce the engagement of my little sister Samantha and her main squeeze, Dan. Coincidentally, Samantha and Dan were engaged on the same evening! One can imagine our parents waiting eagerly at home on Saturday night to hear the good news. Oh, the sweet anticipation. Congratulations Sam and Dan! ...and to my fiance Galib...I love you, I truly do. Samantha and Dan will be married this August and ... read more

Every town i go to i have to remind myself where i am. Its going to be hard getting home and back to work when at the moment my day consists mainly of waking up, eating breakfast, walking to we find a pub, and staying there till it closes or we get kicked out. So far my favorite places have been San Diego, Memphis, and driving through america. We put up 1600 km in 3 days, all the while listening to johns i-pod. Was really cool.
