This weekend Brendy and I are shipping off on our trip to the Bahamas! We've been working hard on building this sailboat for a year and a half and I must say it's straight ballin'! We're gonna be having Coronas on the boat. The plan is to leave the Kingston Marina and cross Lake On to Cape Vincent in the States. We'll try and post as often as we get the chance and we will for sure take lots of pictures! There is room in our log book for guests so if anyone feels the urge to come down for a visit along our trip we'll say welcome aboard My Life! We're practicing our Spanish - Dos Cervesas Por Favor ;) - Trevor and Brendan. ... read more

We woke up early and headed straight to Kingston, to see Nigel’s family. On Saturday, we went to a really nice place to swim on Lake Ontario and went to Nigel’s place to relax and catch up with his mom, his sisters, Mallory and Marissa and his aunt Julie. Of course, we played the game pictionary that night, which is always fun. On Sunday, it was the big family party. All the family on Nigel’s mom side was there and even Sean made it there. It was really great to see everybody all in one place. Thank you everybody to come and be with us for this reunion. ☺ On Monday, we went on a boat cruise of the Thousand Islands with Nigel’s mom and Gran. It was a really beautiful ride and was a very ... read more

Just a pic of my maple (i.e. the one that I tapped last year at maple syrup season). Then my batteries froze up and went flat, so there are no more pics! Spring is gradually sneaking in - today it's a mix of rain, freezing rain and snow. It's melting the snowbanks away bit by bit, and if it wasn't raining I'd probably be out looking for new spring shoots at the park. C'est la vie - hopefully it won't be raining on my next day off (some time in July). Hope all is well around the world with everyone. Hope the easter bunny brought much cocolate and happiness. More when I have some pics!... read more
my tree - it's official (if you tap it, you own it)

I don't dare go outside today - and it's not the -18C temperature (although that plays a farily large part in it). It's just that it hurts my eyes - everything is white and now the sun's out and I think if I go outside I won't be able to see to get back in again! So the snow hit - and there was a lot, but it was hardly a storm per se - no lightning or thunder, just lots of snow falling over a long period of time. There's lots in the news about accidents on the roads and highways, but as I don't really drive here (I have once, just up the road and back) it doesn't really register to me as a consequence of the recent weather. So it's sunny for now, ... read more

well, the geese are anyway. Apparently the Canada geese didn't see the news, as the biggest storm of the season is due to hit in the next hour or so. About 30-50cm (yes, CENTIMETRES) of snow is expected to fall tonight - although if it falls as freezing rain, then we could be looking at 1998 all over again, when most of the country was out of power for weeks. We've stocked up here on movies and treats, so we're all sorted (water, bah). Will email more if I survive the night (yes, I know I'm a drama queen). It's kind of like the morbid excitment surrounding the summer bushfire season back home. Ciao to all, more interesting stuff later (or whenever it happens). E... read more

Bonjour! Comment allez-vous aujourd'hui? It's a cool day here in Brockville (around -10C or 14F) , with a good amount of snow on the ground. At the moment there is some sun out, but hopefully spring is just around the corner. My "travel" plans today will probably just be to go around downtown, research some things and try to help some people. Maybe I'll take some other photos of this grand place for all to see. See you!... read more

Hey everybody (random strangers)! I'm John, 20, and I'm currently living in a town not bloody listed on this website, so I put the closest town of Kingston. I live in Brockville, helping my grandparents at the moment (grandmother has Alzheimer's and grandfather has diabetes), working part-time at a place called Pizza Pizza, and just gotta complete some projects (mainly my theses) and then I'll be done my current studies. In a few months I hope to be on my way out West, though sometime around September I should be off to Europe, running around and meeting some penpals and hopefully making some new friends and the like. It would be awesome to write to others here (preferably around my age, but not necessary), to know about any location around the world (and maybe if ... read more

yes, you're reading the right blog, not Tonya Todman's (for the benefit of the Aussies). I have found my Knifty Knitter and am already the proud owner of two hand-made alpaca beanies/toques, and am taking orders! I spent my day off checking the greenhouses, then visiting with a new friend downtown, just to see how much (or how little) downtown Kingston has changed. Then my friend Karen picked me up and we went for a brisk stroll through Lemoine Park in the snow, followed by a cup of tea - very civilised. Am now in the kitchen cooking up this week's batch of lunches, also known as leftover vegetable soup, high in complex cabbage acids and zucchini fiber (stop snoring). Am now in Canadian time zone, but still having trouble remembering which day it is, as ... read more
