I know, it’s a long time ago since I wrote my last entry, but in Toronto happened not a lot of important things the last month. When I wasn’t studying, I spent my time in a bar or club… The last week was quite more exciting! Besides writing the “Cambridge Advanced Exam”, I had to say good bye to all my friends in Toronto. After a hard week I traveled to Whistler which is much colder than Toronto. I feel here like back in the winter, but the forecast sounds not too bad. Today I explored Whistler on my own. It’s quite different then Toronto what’s not a big surprise. It’s much more nature and mountain. I feel like at home… ;) Most time of the day I spent in the center of the village as ... read more

Well hello there Its been a while since we last wrote but its not due to a lack of things to tell you all about. In the last month or so we have enjoyed a concert by Sting and The Police, celebrated our first overseas birthday and taken a trip to Whistler. A few weekends back Emma and one of her colleagues received a phone call from one of the staff members working for Sting and The Police on their comeback tour. Apparently the group (who kicked off the tour in Vancouver) are fans of some of the L'Occitane product range and offered a deal where The Police would gift a number of tickets to the groups first concert in 25 years in exchange for a few care packages for the boys to enjoy backstage prior ... read more

Life in Canada is finally taking off… well sorta lol. Ive made some fantastic friends who are always there to cheer me up. I am having a great time and am really enjoying hanging out with 3 amazing girls. Without them, I would probably be on the next flight home: Nadine: my life partner, my housemate and my counsellor Jen: my twin; not only does she share my name but she has a younger brother at ag college in qld and did duke of ed! Kim: my ray of sunshine… she is always smiling and happy and puts me in a good mood and she loves the lake wooh! I'm surviving room attending to some degree, each day I fight my way through the Philipinos who are extremely annoying and hav made me shamefully racist. ... read more

Hello all Hope you all enjoying the New Zealand winter!!! ;) So Emily and I have spent a little over a week in Vancouver, before heading north to Whistler for a few days. Job hunting has pretty much gone out the window, as we've found so many new and exciting things to do. We've gone to the Museum of Anthropology, the Vancouver art gallery, watched free beach volleyball at Kitlanso beach, gone up Grouse mountain (although we were rather disappointed that the track was closed and we were forced to take the Gondola). Spent a day a Lynn Canyon (note to future travelers - Lynn Cannon is free and has some lovely forest trails and way less touristy than the Capilano suspension bridge). We ambled down to Chinatown the other day, to poke at all the ... read more

Hi Nackers, Well what a road trip so far. We have made it 5,000 km across Canada and stopped at every major centre across the way. We have hunted bears in northern Ontario, been the toast of the town at the Juno awards in Saskatoon, climbed the highest peaks of the Rockies, partied hard in Whistler, but still no sign of an Canadian with half a cricket brain (Plenty of Aussies in Whistler though). The first point of call was the Lake Superior provincial park, which is known for Bears and Moose. Beefie would not shut up insisting on singing that lame "were going on a bear hunt" song. Considering it was still the tail end of winter our chance of actually seeing one was about as good as England’s chances in the World Cup. ... read more

Telus Music Festival North America » Canada » British Columbia » Whistler Village By Sazzle DazzleApril 16th 2007 A week in Whistler and the free festival has certainly been my savour! The music has been awesome and I've discovered a new understanding and appreciation for regee and drum and bass again! This scene is massive over here so I've been loving the vibes! So we saw Bassnectar on Saturday night and then Steve Marley, K9 and Jr Gong on Sunday. It was immense and Byron and I bounced around in the crowd the entire afternoon. We hit Tommy's after where some wicked chick from Toro... read more

Wild wild west North America » Canada » British Columbia » Whistler Blackcomb By Sazzle DazzleApril 11th 2007 Arrived, changed and went straight out so to hook up with Teressa (one of Lesley's good friends!) She took me out to Bill's and showed me how to party! I've never seen a tongue so long and well equiped for 'muff diving' (shot in a glass filled with cream - no hands are allowed when drinking this shot and it gets messy!) Spent the last couple of days chilling and considering my options and an action plan. It difficult to find much to do if your not snowboarding or skiing in ... read more

I've been to Canada several times before but this was the first time since I have started this blog. When I was back on the other side of the pond I went up with Lori and Reg two times, only one of which has pictures though. The first time I actually went skiing and had fun even though it was kind of rainy. The second time Smith came up with us and we had fun not skiing and going to Tommy Africa's (a nigh club in whistler). The first trip was on St. Patty's day, we didn't drink asmuch as we should have but my Pepermint Patty coffee things we quite tasty! Oh and Reg baught me a green hat! There should be some mroe pictures coming soon, I just have to get my internet ... read more
