Ok, The blog is back! I will start of with the apologies for making the re-appearance of this epic blog take so long but don’t worry the wait has not been in vain.I did in fact loose the cable to connect my camera to the computer and thus have not written any blogs as I know how boring solid writing can get. And seeing as this is a typical Steve move I don’t think any of you are surprised. So to get everyone up to speed. You may remember the last time I filled you in on my travels was an rather merry little night downtown in Vancouver on Halloween. If you do not remember such a night, please feel free to recap with the picture show on the previous blog. After this night I ... read more

I will try to make this blog shorter, and more about showing you the photos of Calgary. Well after New York, me and Andy wernt sure how much better the trip could get, sadly the end of the New York weekend sucked due to Air Canada. But we are over that now. We got into Calgary International Airport on the 24th Feb at around 3pm, and we were greeted at the gate by Ann and Clive (Andys parents....for those of you who dont know, they live in Calgary so we have been staying with them for the last two weeks) which was a change from having to find the airport shuttle bus. We got back to their house, and it was fantastic. We went from small hostels with loads of people, to their lovely huge house ... read more

It only took a small amount of arm twisting (not even a chinese burn) for Linton to convince us to make an unscheduled stop over in Canada on our way to South America. Granted, it is a hell of a detour, but with a friendly offer to stay in Vancouver with hosts Madeline and Graham, an apartment to share with Linton in Calgary and a bumper snow season, how could we resist? First stop was Vancouver for a few days to check out the city and surrounds with locals Madeline and Graham. Not only did they have us to stay at their beautiful house but they both also took time out to show us the city as the locals know it. We travelled around Stanley Park aghast at the damage a mini hurricane has done to ... read more

Well, here we are on Day 1 of our great adventure to the south east corner of the continent. We got away from the house just a few minutes after six, and were well on our way by the time the sun came up. Clear blue skies and no wind to speak of. (Lack of wind is pretty rare for southern Alberta and northern Montana.) No problems crossing the border, and were happy to see at first gas fill up that the prices had not been raised yet. As soon as we crossed into Wyoming, the amount of snow on the ground increased substantially, but the road conditions were still pretty good. No photos for you guys yet, too busy driving. Hope the weather holds at least until we get to Texas! ... read more

Welcome to our travel site. It is now one week before departure, so we have jumped the gun a little, and laid out the route in advance for everyone to look at. We will have access to the internet for a good portion of the trip, and will be uploading pictures, and a small blurb on what happened (or did not) on that particular day. Calgary to New Orleans return will be a 10,000 k.m. drive. (That's without going off the beaten track, which undoubtedly, we will do from time to time.) The route will take us through 15 U.S. states over a period of 24 days. We will be driving a 1999 Honda Civic EX which gets about 48 miles per gallon, so hopefully gas costs will be kept to a minimum. Please note: ... read more

I decided to get a new platform for my travel blog, i will be on the road for the next 1.5 years or more and i really want to have a blog that i can write in. I liked the blog of one of my friends and i decided to have one on the same platform. I am days away from going home to Romania after 6 months in Canada. It was a great experience but probably not exactly what i expected on the personal side. 6 months full of culture, not Canadian culture, WORLD culture, most of my friends here are immigrants and i can say that i had good time with them. The job here was suppose to be great, working for a Non-profit organization on HR and MKT but i end up working ... read more

-28C with windchill is not a great way to start the day. Sure it looks pretty out there, but then you have to scrape six inches of snow off your car so you can see out the windows to drive, and to unglue the windscreen wipers that have frozen to the windshield. Once done, you scramble inside the car, only to wait for 10 minutes for the thing to heat up. The cold at this temperature is amazing - you almost feel too scared to breathe in case the cold gets into your lungs and they freeze up on you! When you breathe in through your nose you can feel the inside freeze up from the condensation of your breathing. A very weird sensation. Still working my tail off flying around the country. This week is ... read more
