So...I'm back..all in all...I got my flight changed..we got on the plane ready to leave...and yet another ac glitch...they sent the new plane...minus any food!!!!!!!!!!!!! or dinks!! They forgot...oooooppss...2 days of hungy pasangers..i was totally fine cuz that 7 dollars for food was awesome! can you hear the cynicism....Anways...to make a very long story short...all I cared about was getting to my fina destination.....we said goodbye at Heathrow to our 856 family....we all seriously became really close....as expected, any flight for the middle east were high alert and delayed..at least I had luggage...I think??? they kept mine on, but my Indian family was told to go through customs again and take it all off again! ugh!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, Preparations are starting for the move to Abu Dhabi. At the moment I am trying to figure out what vaccines I need before I go. The fun and games of it all, there are different websites giving me different information but I suppose research and talking to the doctors will bring it all into the light!!! I'm hoping to get the whole UAE covered in my time over there, and some of other parts of the world. All very ambitious I suppose, seeing as I'll probably be spending the first month sitting on the air con as a result of the heat. We have had a fab time in Dubai, the weather was el scorchio! It was officially 41'c every single day, although the temperature gauge in the taxis told a different story! 45 - 46'c. Apparently all of the builders over here cant work above a certain temperature..... so they LIE......nothing like a bit of bending the rules!!! It was so hot here........ that when you walked into the sea it was like getting into a very hot bath...... nice and refreshing not! We spent a great day at the Wild Wadi water park, although the start of the day was not great after being ripped off by a friendly taxi driver - We get the feeling this is something that is going to happen quite often! Border Patrol “Lets go to Oman, the borders just down this road. We can take some more shots; it’ll be great”…an inspired idea Ficks; so simple, so easy, just themselves and their passports in a white peugeout 205 hire car, hardly any money, phones that don’t work on the network in Oman. Perfect. So they drive down the road towards the border patrol, they pass through the first and show their passports, they drive through No Mans Land..too late to turn back now.
