Natomiast katedra owszem. Chichester Cathedral wzniesiono w 1075 roku. Łączy w sobie style normański i gotycki. Katedrę konsek... read more

Having spent the summer working in the stunning Haute Provence we are about to set off on our next adventure. The last week and a half has been great fun, catching up with family and friends. However, we are now in the phase of building piles of clothing and kit, from which we will select what we need / are able to take, given that in amongst the 12 flights that feature in the trip some will allow us just 20 kg of luggage. The flights, along with trains, coaches, boats and camper vans will get us round Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, then east Coast Australia from Cairns to Adelaide plus a weeks road trip up to Alive Springs, via Uluru. We will be away for 10 weeks altogether, so needless to say the excitement is ... read more

I will take you back to 4.30 in the morning, after just 4 and a half hours of sleep you would be forgiven for thinking that a bunch of zombies were travelling today, but with Eagle Radio blaring down the corridor combined with a lot of coco pops, it is safe to say these zombies are EXTREMELY excited (as is Sulley!). We are now sitting in an exotic pub at Gatwick airport (I believe they call it 'spoons...;)) waiting for our second breakfast of the day! Check in went well and so far so good! First stop? Berlin! Greetings patient ones. I landed back in the UK to blue skies and warm sunshine - an unexpected pleasure. Some 56 hours after leaving El Calafate, two buses, a taxi, three planes, four airports, and two trains later the wanderer is back in the wee abode he chooses to use as the base for his life. The body is weary and the mind is finding it somewhat tricky to comprehend (once again) the instant switch of context that happens when you board a plane half a (very different) world away and then find yourself in familiar surroundings at the other end. I'll try to go back and update some trail details but the mind is too blurred for the moment. The body needs a bath and the brain needs time to lie still in its juices ... read more

Being in the middle of one of those work phases, this trip is shorter than might otherwise be desired but it allows the wanderer to visit a long-held target (the Torres del Paine). Also hoping to visit the Perito Moreno glacier. On the afternoon of February 20th, a long series of flights (LHR > MAD > SCL > PUQ) will find the wanderer in one of the southern-most airports of our planet - Punta Arenas (pretty close to the bottom of Chile) on the afternoon of February 21st. If all goes well, the wanderer finds a fellow wanderer (FD - last found in the Khumbu in December 2012) awaiting his arrival. The next day, the wanderers hope to find a long bus ride to Puerto Natales. An overnight pause and supply stop and then another bus ... read more

So one final short blog post, now recovered from the considerable reverse culture shock of returning to placid Sussex after the craziness of India. It's been a fantastic trip over 238 days encompassing 3 continents, 16 countries and 27 flights; many modes of transport including elephants, rickshaws and kayaks; and every type of landscape from arid deserts to mountain glaciers to tropical jungles. One of the memorable highlights has been befriending a diverse mix of fellow travellers from around the world and the hospitable local people everywhere I've visited. Many thanks to everyone who's shared the adventure through reading the posts, enjoying the photos and making comments - wishing you all the best in your future travels and hope the blog has provided you with a few new ideas.... PS please don't hesitate to drop me a ... read more

Geo: 51.1133, -0.182914Nothing like waking to the sound of toilet waste rushing by your head. We managed to pack our bags in a confined space and the time to leave easyHotel had arrived. It didn't take long to check the room.. Credit to the staff at easyHotel. I mean, they know their hotel is just bad, but they've all been so friendly about it.We finally got our first dose of Greggs, a bakery chain in the UK. We purchased bacon rolls and OJ and a sandwich for lunch for a total £7 for the both of us. There were weekend works on the tube but didn't delay us much to Victoria Station. We waited an hour or so before catching the National Express to Gatwick airport. With an early flight to Copenhagen tomorrow at 7am, we'd ... read more

Hi Everyone,I thought I would finish off this blog with an update after I’d been home for a while, to reflect on my trip and the whole gap year experience. It’s been two months since I jetted back in from Australia and I have managed to catch up with most of my friends and relatives, find a part-time job and play some tennis in all weathers.Having left Perth in temperatures in the high 20’s it was a real shock to the system when I arrived at Heathrow where it was below freezing but it was lovely to be met by my brother Paul and driven to Mum and Dad’s. Although we’d all kept in touch very well by email and the odd phone call, it was fabulous to see them and catch them up on my ... read more
