Yesterday's LOW: Walking and to and from that horrible seminar. Yesterday's HIGH: All of us cracking up listening to Melissa and her mom on the phone. The conversation involved a mouth, a "bottom", and a sore...it was interesting. Today's LOW: Spending a lot of money on the first dinner I cooked for the flat. Today's HIGH: Having everyone LOOOOOVE the meal...and then watching Peep Show. (Its not what it sounds like, but its hilarious). So yesterday I had my last class of the week. My schedule is really uneven with a bunch of classes on Monday and Wednesday, one on Thursday, and none on Tuesday or Friday. So that one Psyc seminar was the only thing holding me back from a long weekend. I decided to wear a skirt and heals knowing that I wouldnt have ... read more

LOW of the Day: Its a toss up between showing up to another empty lecture room, and talking about cannibalism for two hours. HIGH of the Day: The dance party I had in my room between classes. Im a PiPhi in every country. (PS-the only thing I have in the fridge is like 5 different kinds of cheese, yogurt, and cider...and we all know, you can tell youre a PiPhi when youre obsessed with cheese.) So yesterday I didnt do much of anything. With a change in my class schedule, I dont have classes on Tuesday OR Friday...very nice. So, naturally, I woke up late and bummed around the flat and watched some CSI. After dinner we all sat around and scared the crap out of my flatmate, Melissa, because she has suiter...who might be a ... read more

So yesterday I slept in...and by that I mean that after going to bed around 7am, I didnt wake up until 230pm. I just kinda bummed around and watched CSI on my comp. Then we all had dinner and watched the worst TV shows ever. We watched this animal explorer thing that followed a baby wildabeast (sp?) and the guys I was watching it with were just waiting for the brutal carnage of it. It was disturbing. Then we watched the "Worlds Worst Police videos". Half of them took place in NoWhere, USA and I had to defend myself against the stupidity of some Americans. But there was a clip of a crazy jail break that happened in England, which made me feel better. We waited for the last flat mate to finally get back to ... read more

So today I didnt really do much at all. Theres nothing to do here without getting rained on or blown away. A bunch of us went out tonight to a pub called Varsity. Drinks are sooooo expensive so I stuck to a pint of cider while everyone else had a few. We came back and watched The Usual Suspects and then I came back to my room and was looking at pictures online. Now Im SUPER homesick. I guess Ive been trying not to think about it, but I REALLY miss everyone from home. Maybe knowing that everyones going back to school this week is hitting me and Im bored out of my mind most of the time. People here are kind, but its not the same. I feel like having a single puts everyone at ... read more

So I still havent won Monopoly and, Im not gonna lie, Im bitter. Ill get there though. Im still having a hard time going to bed at a decent hour so I finally fell asleep last night around 5am. It might be partially due to the fact that I found a way to download some episodes of Scrubs online which I am very excited about. Today, I finally got my ID card, finalized my schedule, and talked to some academic advisors. Then I came back to the flat and searched around on the net and found THE BEST SITE EVER!!! Its www.peekvid.com and its a site that has tons of TV shows and movies that you can just watch whenever you want for FREE. Since I have no work to do yet, and am still melding ... read more

So yesterday, I went to the International Office once again to figure out modules. I think I’ve finally gotten it. After running around campus trying to figure out housing and academics I came back for some dinner and then a run to Tesco to get Monopoly with my flat mate. We played for 3 hours and I came in a very close 2nd place after the winner and I counted our assets. Im still pretty bitter. Still on New England time, I stayed up till 5am and passed out to Friends. I woke up this morning to go to my first class, both nervous and excited. After going through like 5 buildings to find the room I sat around for 20 minutes until the last class got out. I sat in the room for 10 minutes ... read more

So last night was my first night out in Europe. It was definitely fun and definitely different. While on UConn’s campus, the Student Union is where students go when they’re staying sober, at Warwick, the Student Union is where students go to drink. There is a cover, security, a long queue (the word here used for “wait”) and a fully-stocked bar. It was so surreal walking into a university building and seeing everyone wasted and dancing. My flat mates and I forged our way to the bar and got drinks. As advised by my orientation guy earlier in the day, I ordered a “Purple.” It was a shot of this popular currant juice and beer that everyone I was with said was horrible, so I was worried. However, it was only a pound and I figured ... read more

So on Saturday, I went to bed around 9 or 10pm and woke up at 2pm on Sunday. That rest was MUCH needed after such a long couple days. I stayed in all day plastering pictures of everyone on the walls and getting situated to start classes on today. Eventually my flat mates started filtering in and we all ate dinner together. We rotate who cooks and cleans every night which is nice because I would hate to have to cook all the time. It reminds me of the "family" meals on the cruise...except that everyone has either a beer, some wine or a drink at hand. For the rest of the night we all sat around talking (while I asked questions and translated the accents in my head). I can really notice the difference ... read more

Well, Im finally at the University of Warwick in England!! The week getting here was both long and short at the same time. The highlight was definitely Friday night with dinner and a little partying. In attendence was: From Home: Logan, Niki, Ben, Leah, and Josh From ACL: Corie, Michelle, Scott, Mike, and Eric Biddies: Lindsay and Meghan From Pi Phi: Jackie, Ric, Danimal, Liz A bunch of people met at my house in EL first and we just chilled while everyone else was stuck in traffic. We opened a bottle of wine and pushed back dinner and hour. Getting to Par Four in Groton was no easy task. Everyone but Liz (who got stuck in a shitload of traffic and got a ticket trying to get there on-time) made it to my house before. So ... read more

Well, here we go. Who would have thought there'd ever be a travel blog for Coventry. Given its grey nature, anonomous character and....hang on. Do you know what, i confess that i was all up for a bit of Coventry bashing in this blog. Not because i dont love the place, i truely do, and anyone who's met me will agree. But, in fairness, apart from coming from dear old Coventry, i've always known at the back of my mind, theres not much going for it. Well, that was before i got back and started wandering around. Now, i'm not going to go overboard and try to put Cov in the top 10 places to see in the world, but to a point..Cov's gone cool. Firstly and maybe most importantly it houses the worlds best ever ... read more
