The last few days have been wonderful. The sun is still blaring down every day with no signs of letting up.. Everyday is STILL in the 30's and I don't think I have ever drank this much water in my life or sweated so much either. So the update, a few days ago as night time was falling I was promised a Hedgehog hunt, so off we went with flash light and a bottle of wine to view the open sky.. and got distracted by the bottle of wine and no hunting really happened.. the next night it was a mission. We brought a tent, cat food (apparently this is key) and a head lamp. We set up camp in this crazy hill field area.. to get to the site we hiked through grass up to ... read more

In my Liverpool home. In my Liverpool home. We speak with an accent exceedingly rare, If you want a Cathedral we've got one to spare. In my Liverpool home. Non English friends, I will sing this to you when I get back Well as you can tell Im in Liverpool. Its still as rough as ever, some places are worse than before, but you cant beat the scouse humour! I would never live here again but I will always love Liverpool. I have had a brilliant time here, going to some old haunts of mine & my parents. By the way, we are famous here, we even have bread named after our family.... There were 3 things I really wanted in Liverpool, go to Anfield (ticked), have scouse (ticked) & get curry, rice & chips from ... read more

Thurs 1st. June. We pack for the very last time, and just about squeeze every bit of rubbish in. We are so programmed for home now, that if we were offerred 2 free weeks on the Moon, we'd say " No, thank you"! After a superb meal .. -- who said Chinese food was rubbish? --- we walk down to Tianenman Square. The night is balmy, and the crowds have thinned out - a little. The many trees are lit with coloured xmas lights and the monuments look spectacular in the floodlights. In daytime, you felt a bad atmosphere and a sense of tragedy here, whereas now, it's just a pleasant place to stroll around. Fri. 2nd. A 07:00 call makes sure we arrive at the airport in plenty of time for our 10:15 flight. This ... read more

Let's see, i actually can't remember what my first update was about. But ill just try to tell some of what i am doing and have been doing now for about 5 days. Me and the 5 other members of my team are staying at Hope University of Liverpool. I have my own room, my own bathroom, and its better than wittenberg! WOW So that has been a huge blessing because i went into this trip not expecting anything this wonderful. Every day my team and the STINT team (year long interns most of which are from Miami of OHIO) have a devotional and prayer time. Then we pair off in groups of two and take a public bus to the campus area of Liverpool. I have been paired so far with a cool guy named ... read more

after staying at a really nice hotel in liverpool, we walked to abert dock and went to a couple of the free museums. the custom and export museum was really kewl and interactive. it showed you all the shit people try to smuggle in and how to tell if someone is smuggling. they showed some animal cruelty stuff like turtle soup, leopard skin, and ivory which well, made me want to kill myself. its usually the cruel stuff from asia and africa that people try to sneak over. i cant believe there is a demand for this shit. afterwards, we went to the liverpool life museum. some of it was interesting, most of it i found kinda boring because im not really into english history. my parents enjoyed it though. i think my dad really liked ... read more

we took a first class train from london to liverpool. it was empty. the ride was about 2 and a half hours. we just had some french businessmen in our area. the ride was good and relaxing. once we got off the train, we took a cab from the station to our hotel to drop off our luggage. we then went to the beatles experience thing. it was a lot of fun and very moving. we then went on the magical mystery tour. it was kewl to see a lot of places used in beatles songs and where the beatles grew up and lived. it was really sad to see that strawberry fields is now for sale. i mean it shouldnt be sad because more women get abortions these days and kids are with foster families, ... read more

Damn you FLAMES!!!! I thought it would be easy to keep this thing up to date but wow, so much to do and sitting inside for an hour or so in front of a computer just seems so wrong for some reason. As you will notice I don’t have access to get my pictures off my camera so this update will be text only. Ok where was I? April 27th Went out with the Steve last night, got a little drunk so I didn’t really wake up till around noon-ish. Steves buddies paid for every single drink they had by doing magic tricks to the people in the bar, never seen that before but I might have to give it a shot. The night clubs out here are pretty much the same except for the fact ... read more

Liverpool = 1. Home of the Beatles. 2. The most boring town in the UK. I had 13 hours in Liverpool waiting for Megan's flight to get in before heading to Leeds. It was a little rainy so I ducked into the Maritime Museum (not the best of ideas) If anyone wants to know anything about ships, I am the girl to ask now. ... read more

Hello all, I didn’t expect much in Liverpool. Thought of it as a shipping town—industrial, etc. I was pleasantly surprised. They have retained the old buildings as an art gallery, court house and library. Other old buildings are used for government functions. They are an interesting contrast to the high rises and malls that surround them. The Mersey River isn’t large, but they have made great use of their waterfront. Again, they retained many of the original buildings. And, of course Liverpool is the home of the Beatles. Could a visit be complete without visiting the museum dedicated to them. It was well done and took more than three hours to make my way through. The audio phones had forty entries. They were narrated by John Lennon’s sister. Many of the places we associate with the ... read more
