So today started off shitty...i (and dan) decided that it is probably best to separate...he just isn't any fun, not willing to be social with others...he was just being really quiet yesterday on our tourist-y trip through london, so last night i went to the bar downstairs and hung out with the australian bartender and this other guy from south carolina who were both super chill and told me they thought that dan was being wierd and not cool...they were telling me to ditch him, but i definitely was really scared about the thought of being alone in a foreign country...at the same time though, and this is logically thinking, that i really dont want my trip being ruined by someone, and i think that this will force me to get to know the city better ... read more

well tomorrow heralds the very end of my Alevels, and the start of a very long holiday...i can't believe secondary education is finally going to be over! anyway, as soon as i get out of that exam hall it's up to covent garden to get a backpack , and then the rest of next week is going to be a blur of booking remaining hostels, buying travel insurance, getting traveller's cheques and the all-important interrail ticket, and general panicking on my part about whether we have everything we need. but in just under 10 days we're going to be on a ferry heading towards Amsterdam and Europe. and i can't wait! just so i've got it safely in here , here's the route we're taking. now i don't know where it's going to be put on ... read more

The Adventure begins. LONDON, 20-26.06.2006 In the beginning of June we decided to take a trip to London, UK. We bought plane tickets for 5000 EEK (Estonian Kroon), which is about 160 € per face (including airport taxes). Thanks to a very popular website www.orkut.com we found ourselves accomodation. There are some communities in orkut for Estonians who live in foreign countries. Lynn decided to contact some Estonian girls, who live in London and we paid them just for water and gas. Altogether we paid them 1000 EEK (60 €) for 6 nights. The cheapest hostel I could find in London was 2500 EEK (160 €) per person for 6 nights. So we were quite lucky. Day number one At 8 am our trip started from Tallinn Ülemiste Airport. Our flight was Tallinn - Prague - ... read more

The first day of the trip went fairly well. After leaving from Pearson on a supposed 'MyTravel' airline, I made it way ahead of schedule to London Gatwick airport. Despite leaving at 6 o clock in the evening, by the time the flight landed it was nearly 6 in the morning. Hence to say I did not sleep. My flight to Spain was not planned to leave until 6.40 p.m. local time in London, so I took a train to London Victoria Station and checked my luggage in. The most surprising thing I noticed were the amount of smokers that were in London - even inside the station. The people here dress very well and I felt more or so underdressed with my large knapsack and lugging along my suitcase in the middle of rush hour. ... read more

Day 19-21 Arrived: London, England (dinner) Accommodation: The (London) Tower Hotel first impression = can't believing we're staying here/ breath- taking view room type = St. Katherine's Suite shower = try huge tub the size of a jacuzzi tip = splurge Gone.. Go Trippin' If you think we've tone down our trip thus far, then call the toning over because we are going out with a bang.. to our wallets! We got lucky on our hotel which we booked through Expedia. What a deal. We could not believe it that we had to ask the front desk lady twice to make sure we were at the right hotel. We didn't necessarily fit in with our giant backpacks and our laid back wardrobe, but we were assured we were in the right place. We arrived just in ... read more

I've been in London for the past five days, and it has been a blast. I've been staying with and English guy (Chris) and an irish guy (Niall) during my trip and they are a blast. The best way to describe them is that they are lovely gentlemen in their mid 20's that enjoy a fine whisky and water after a day of work and a few quips from the Simpsons (perfect for me!) They live in this cool little flat in the Ealing Bourough of London so getting to the center takes less than 20 minutes to the tube. It's that typical little suburb you see on tv. My flight to London was pretty interesting. I sat next to this man from Bangladesh with a thick accent who was from New York. He kept inviting ... read more

Namaste (Thats hello in Hindi - see this can be an educational blog as much as an entertaining one) Well I never - I fly out to Delhi today. Well tonight at 10pm. I've got a whole day in front of me to pack, eat chicken, get travellers cheques and play with getting some cds onto my pda. Lets hope I survive since I have on various occasions nearly thrown myself, laptop and pda out the window in annoyance at none of it working. So I've got a hotel booked and a taxi booked from the airport. A man with a nice yellow card will come and find me. This is pretty organised. Well that's 4 of 180 days sorted anyway. Had a nice evening last night with sisters and friends with everyone giving me one ... read more

The second day was the highlight of the whole trip as I finally could see him, after waiting for nearly 10 months. But before the arrival of that evening, I spent the day with my uncle, aunt and my cousin. I woke up early in the morning and then went to the High Street of Chiswick Park to wait for the bus to Hammersmith. It didn’t take long and I enjoyed the sight along the way. It wasn’t breathtakingly wonderful but I enjoyed it anyway. 10 minutes later it went to the terminus and I instinctly knew where to get to the Tesco, where my cousin and I agreed to meet. I was a few minutes late and my cousin was already there. She took me to walk to her home. We first walked across a ... read more

If you have ever seen the movie "Terminal" with Tom Hanks, you may remember the scene where he is shaving in the bathroom and another guy says "do you ever feel like your living in an airport?" Thats how me and my team feel right now. We are on the begining end of an allnighter before a 7:00 am flight to munich to get a connector to st petersburg! So im not sure how much sleep i'll get or anything, but we'll soon see i suppose. This week has been sort of transitional, i feel like i am ready to go to st petersburg btu they have been putting us through cultural training that is pretty important, so i guess i had to wait. I dont really like travel to much either ( the airport part) ... read more
