PRAHA When I went to France in July of 2010 to meet up with friends from Melbourne who happened to be travelling & living in Europe, I made a rough plan with Kerry & Marty to visit them in Praha (where they would live for six months). 4 days to go..... Well, this is the first weekend I have been out of work for 9 and a half years and it does kind of feel pretty liberating. There was a spring in my step yesterday when I work up knowing that work was over and my travels were about to begin. Leaving work, or should I say the people, was quite difficult. I have made some very good friends there and I will miss them. But from my viewpoint looking forward looks great and exciting and I can't wait to get going. I think these last few days in the UK are going to be some of the longest days of my life, waiting for that 10pm flight on Thursday to Auckland. Today I arrived back in London at 7am from taking the overnight train home from Glasgow, it wasn't too bad at all - much better than I was expecting! Caught the tube back to Kath's and slept. Sorry, another dull entry from the UK, but we're off to China tomorrow. On a 2.30pm flight to Shanghai from Heathrow, flying through the night and at 8am on Sunday we'll be there, for a few days before moving onto Beijing. They'll be more exciting news next time, when the 5 months will have begun! So it's goodbye Tooting and hello to cities, beaches and mountains, and no work! Sunday was a really lazy day, slept in, went to the Internet Cafe, went to Primark (which is sort of like Kmart) and got some nice new clothes with Kath. Kath and I also went to Sainsbury's (a supermarket) and grabbed some food because we planned to have a bbq that night as Emelie had a few people coming over. The night went really well. It was great because all the flat mates bar one were at the gathering and everyone got a chance to talk to everyone else, as well as that Emelie's friends were really nice too. Kath does have one flat mate that is a bit odd but still nice and he did all the cooking. Brett and I have now been in London for two days now and in some ways it's very similiar to Melbourne and in others it's like nothing ive ever exprienced before. Yesterday (wednesday) was the first full day we spent in Tooting broadway (for those who don't know we're staying with my best friend phina) after a decent sleep in and a after brekkie sleep, we went and explored tooting's main street...heaps of take away stores and clothes shops. Brett and I had our very first English pub meal courtesy of Phina....i had my first taste of Cider...it tasted abit like champagne but because i was still a bit jetlagged it went straight to my head lol. This is my first entry. I just logged in...wow. I wonder which language I am going to use? I think I will blog in both: Polish and English, for all my friends and family. I am still in London, getting ready for my big trip. First stop in Mumbai. I hope Sima's father will organize someone to pick us up from the airport.
