Think our luck with the weather may be running out as the temperature has certainly dropped and we havent seen the sun yet today but its still pleasant enough for early autumn. Our morning session was due to be with Linn Bertsson based with the Department of Regional Development to discuss the region's strategy for growth and development entitled Vastra Gotaland 2020 but unfortunately Linn is unwell and was unable to make the session. I assume it may have been the build up to meeting representatives from Durham County Council and the excitement got too much but hope Linn gets well soon. Thankfully Robin was able to give us some information around the project and I have asked if Linn can forward us further info when she returns to work. It certainly wasn't that normal Monday feeling and even after only 2 days we all seem to be settled now and feel like we have been here much longer a testiment to the warmth of the city and thankfully not just the people as again we woke to beautiful sunshine, I would rub it in more but it seems the same can be said for back in the UK as I was informed on Sky news this morning - yes that is one of the only english speaking channels on the tv in the hotel (for a change) along with Nat Geo and the History channel no doubt I will be the No.1 fan of ice road truckers by my return. Under construction....what I can tell you ...I am in Sweden! Up early, showered, dogs fed, car packed and we were off to Sweden! We hummed and hawed the night before on how we wanted to get there, options being by boat or car and opted for the car ride as it allowed us to sleep in until 5am :) It was a long drive but the singing, eating and sight seeing made the drive feel like nothing. Our first stop as tourists was to get an up close and personal view of the windmills also known as wind turbines. It also gave us a chance to stretch our legs and empty our bladders. I am becoming very good at coming up with stuff on the fly, and finding interesting things to do with my time. Like yesterday for example... I was going off the suggestion from a German in Norway about what to do in Sweden! Mirjam stressed that I HAD to check out the southern archipelago off the coast of Gothenburg; so I did. I took a tram to the ferry terminal on the edge of town, and spoke with a very helpful lady at the ticket office who set me up with the perfect pass for me and pointed me in the right direction to the island that I should visit, if not any others; and she was absolutely right! Heeey! i'm so sorryyyy that I don't have blogged this week. But I havent got time... Okey so when I was on the plain a met a really kind friend, and it turned out that we had the same hotel. Like how strange isn't that? And also he was kinda cute, lol. ;) this week has been amazing!! anyway this guy live here and his dad owns a company so I've got a job there until I get a better job. And I earn pretty much so I checked in to a beautiful kind of expensive hotel. It is sooo nice here in La ! I also went to a vegetarian restaurant, just for fun. And they had great food.
