I think I dozed off quite fast, he was tossing and turning and clearly uncomfortable by it all. He said it was because of the night shifts that he has been doing the few days before I came which messed up his body clock. At some point in the night, I felt him move and exit his room. In the morning, I found him outside on his couch with a half-read book on his coffee table. I came to say good morning and sat on the couch and like a lightning flash, he muttered a reply, smile, jumped up, gathered his things and went into his room. Only four more days left until departure, I'm not exaggerating if I say I'm very very excited! :) I've been planning this trip since February, and now in four days I'm leaving, it is a bit strange to be honest! I'm taking care of the final preparations now, checking all the reservations, bookings, immigration rules etc to make sure everything is OK. Got the necessary vaccination last week (fortunately only one injection this time), a new suitcase and a digital camera have been bought, currencies have been ordered, and I got the three remaining accommodations confirmed today (Kyoto/Hong Kong/Guangzhou). So it all looks pretty good, basically just the packing left... My RTW ticket also arrived today...five days delayed. G'Day G´Day. Gee you can´t half tell I´ve been hanging around with a whole lot of Aussies for the past 6 days!!! BERLIN-GERMANY 27/8/06-29/8/06 Well my grand adventures in Europe have begun. I managed to survive the gauntlet run, that is Healthrow airport, unscathed and with time to spare (a minor miracle), and landed in Berlin safe and sound. I actually found another couple in the airport who are on my trip as well which was great. It wasn´t hard to miss us looking like giant wonky turtles with multicoloured shells, doing the every so elegant back-packer waddle. So after a few false starts on the trains, first the wrong line, then the wrong direction, we managed to find the hostel in Berlin and meet up with some of the other people.
