Well....It has been little over a week since my last entry, and so much has happened. Vienna to Lake Bled, Slovenia and now the capital of Slovenia Ljubljana (Loob leeyaana). We spent two days in Vienia, where my mom studied for 4 months. I had been there before, but the weather was terrible and I did not have a good feeling about the city. This time we decided to take a bike tour the first day and really got a great overview of a wonderful and beautiful city, full of art, culture and a ton of history that has shaped the world as we know it. Highlights of this city included having cappucino and a chocolate croisant for breakfast and having a little austrian woman tell me about the opera in vienna and how amazing it ... read more

Hello hello I am presently in Slovenia at the moment, in the capital city of Ljubljana. What a gem of a city, it has no big attractions but the atmosphere is the best that i have experienced yet. It's a city that has a large italian and german influence. We are only 100 miles from italy at the moment. We got here two days ago and before that we spent 4 nights in lake Bled up in the Alps. We met some very funny welshmen there who were obsessed with eating horse, its a slovenian delicacy. Spent most of our time doing as little as possible in the sun by the lake. Went canyoning which was awesome. You put a wetsuit and helmet on and go jumping, absailing and ziplining down this canyon. Got a bit ... read more

Na placu znajduje sie most Triple Bridge (Tromostevje), Frančiškanska cerkev i maly market. Nad miastem kroluje zamek Ljubljanski grad, od razu postanawiamy sie wdrapac na wzgorze, zeby podziwiac panorame miasta. Schodzimy na dol i biegniemy zobaczyc Pa ... read more

For seventeen days I wandered between three of the ex-Yugoslav republics, with Slovenia as both the first and the last stop on my trip. Like part of a family, they all share certain common elements of history, language, cuisine, and culture…but just like any one of three sisters who is constantly admired for her similarities to the other two; each would be quick to highlight what differentiates her so drastically as well. Admittedly, I set out from Rome in a frame of mind completely inconducive to appreciating these differences…and perhaps even to travel in general. Due to a badly timed arrival of 30+ books from the States, I left with a whopping 62 kilos in tow and was drenched in sweat and fully exhausted from the nearly impossible task of lugging all my newly purchased luggage ... read more

On August 14th after being in Portugal for work and visiting family some days i started my summer holidays trip! I flew from Lisbon to Amsterdam and from Amsterdam i continued my trip where Adria Airways flew me to ljubljana in Slovenia. Adria operates this route with very small planes and the weather above the alps and in slovenia was bad, rainy and windy so we had quite some turbulence and especially with such a small plane you notice that well. Luckely enough i landed at Brnik Airport in one piece. 2 friends were waiting for me at the airport and drove me to their house. As it was raining so hard we decided to stay in and drink...we just left the house to get a famous "Horse Burger" near Tivoli park. It was also very ... read more

First, thanks for everyone who's commented on the website, I only just realized how I could read your contributions - its nice to hear from you all! After Trogir we headed north up the coast of Croatia and stopped on an island called Vir, planning to stop just for a night. But then Bad news - a scratch on Grace's leg got infected, so we went to the pharmacy, who called the doctor and told us to see her, who gave us a prescription after hanging about for two hours, so back to the pharmacy, and then we had to stay another night to visit the doctor again. Lot of hanging about in a, to be blunt, craphole... it's like the wild west, full of Hungarians building horrible holiday homes so it all looks like a ... read more
