On August 14th after being in Portugal for work and visiting family some days i started my summer holidays trip! I flew from Lisbon to Amsterdam and from Amsterdam i continued my trip where Adria Airways flew me to ljubljana in Slovenia. Adria operates this route with very small planes and the weather above the alps and in slovenia was bad, rainy and windy so we had quite some turbulence and especially with such a small plane you notice that well. Luckely enough i landed at Brnik Airport in one piece.

2 friends were waiting for me at the airport and drove me to their house. As it was raining so hard we decided to stay in and drink...we just left the house to get a famous "Horse Burger" near Tivoli park. It was also very late so after some shots of slivovitza we went half drunk to sleep.

Next morning we went into town to buy my traintickets for the traintrip i was going to make all the way from Ljubljana to Alexandroupolis in Greece. Then we walked a bit through town and went for coffee. I went to the old center of Ljubljana and saw the Tromostovje

In Ljubljana you can see a lot of coloured buildings like this pink one!
(triple bridge) over the ljubljanica river designed by Joe Plečnik and many beautiful buildings in beautiful baroque style.

In the afternoon we took the car to Postojna caves, the biggest Karst caves in europe, where a small train took us underground for a tour of several kilometres and a part had to be done walking. These caves were huge and very impressive and rather cold. Outside the weather was a lot better and we went back to Ljubljana were we went to have dinner at a nice chinese restaurant.

In the evening at 21.00 CET my train was ready to depart for Belgrade so my friends took me to the station and put me on the train for an unforgetable trip! This trip would end in Ljubljana again so i will write here more about what i did after i arrived back to Ljubljana from Greece.

Coming back after such a long tiring trip i went to my friends again and we went for lunch and in the evening we went with some of their friends into town for drinks. No clubs were really open during the week as it was summer season and everybody was at

the beach which was a pity! The next day, the 24th of august it was my birthday so my friends took me to an Italian restaurant for lunch and bought me a huge slovenian choclate bar! The rest of the day we relaxed, and walked through town again were you could see Ljubljana Grad (the Castle) on a hilltop. I had the best pancake ever, a schwarzwald pancake with real Nutella, nuts and cherry's in it! Then we shopped a bit and i cooked for my friends. The next day i had to fly back to Amsterdam, this was the end of my holidays!
