Lundi 9 Juillet 2007 : 1er jour de boulot et sortie pour l’anniv d’Olga Donc premier jour de boulot, j’ai vite fait galère pour aller au boulot car en fait on prend le minibus pour y aller et y en a plein et tu sais pas lequel va ou ya rien marque aux arrêts de bus (enfin a ce qui ressemble a des arrêts) mais heureusement Olia m avait dit quel numéro prendre et attention il faut être vif et avoir des bons yeux car il faut lui faire signe pour qu’ ils s arrêtent mais comme ils roule comme des barges, des fois c’est trop tard, c ce qu’il m est arrive aujourd’hui, j’ai donc pris un autre minibus et j’ai demande une dizaine de fois a une dame quand était mon arrêt et après ... read more

Vendredi 6 Juillet 2007 : Arrivée à Tcheliabinsk Je suis arrivé à 12h05 à l’aéroport de Tcheliabinsk et comme prévu mon sac n’est pas arrivé à destination. Olga (une Project manager d’Umnitsa) et son père sont venus me chercher. Très sympathiques, ils m’ont offert un café et on a discuté de tout et de rien. Ensuite ils m’ont emmené à l’appart, j’ai un peu flippé au début car ils ne le trouvaient pas et ils m’ont emmené dans des endroits chers bizarre…Mais finalement on y est arrivé : c’est un quartier résidentiel au nord de Tcheliabinsk, un peu niqué mais ca va il ya l’air d’avoir plein de jeune et ca na pas l’air de trop craindre. Day 76, 15th August. Chelyabinsk Woke up with a bad hangover and hearing stories of my terrible drunken behaviour. They thought it was quite funny actually. But I vowed to keep off the alcohol for a month! I spent the day doing stuff, washing clothes, putting my new front pannier rack on, and changing the tyres. The bad news was that my back wheel needed replacing at a cost of around 40 pounds, due to the bad buckling I received on a bump in Moldova. I managed to phone my mum and dad, all at home is well except that my cat ‘Scratchy’ has died. It was to be expected though, she was very old and had lost all her teeth. Day 74, 13th August. Ust’katav - Satka - (EUROPE / ASIA BORDER) - Miass Woke up for an early start and began with a great four and a half mile downhill to blow the cobwebs away, there were uphills to follow but they didn’t seem that severe. The Urals kept going on and on into the distance, huge tree-covered hills with a few bare mountain tops. They kind of reminded me of Scotland and it was hard to think that I was in Russia. Just over ten years ago this journey would have been impossible. On an uphill, I left a message for the guys; better that yesterdays sticker on a milepost, this was a letter in a multivitamin container which they would surely see urging, “pedal faster ladies”! Also, nun seit laengerer Zeit mein erster Eintrag. Ich bin wieder zurueck in Deutschland. Bin dabei verschiedene Formulare auszufuellen und so weiter. Doch mittlerweile geniesse ich die deutsche Buerokratie. Ist um einiges besser als die russische. Weiterhin ist hier viel mehr los und das Leben mehrschichtiger als in Russland. Somit komme ich nicht dazu dies hier zu verfollstaendigen. Nur kurz ein Ueberblick: Es ist viel passiert. Ich bin mit dem Zug nach Ufa gefahren und dort 2 Tage geblieben. Neun Stunden im Zug. Und die nette Frau in unserem Wagen hat ganz erstaunt geguckt und gesagt - da ist der ja morgen schon wieder weg. Nun, fuer uns Deutsche ist selbst eine Nacht schon sehr lang.
