Et même si on y a déjà été il y a quelques années... On est toujours heureux et surtout fièrs d'y arriver à ce fameux CAP NORD... Et heureusement que nous y avions déjà été... c'était sous le soleil si nos souvenirs sont bons... Aujourd'hui on traversera le brouillard pour y arriver... On y restera pas longtemps non plus tellement il y a du vent et tellement il fait froid... Il n'y avait pas grand monde d'ailleurs... je me suis tout de même amusée à photographier des plaques de voitures venant de pays dont nous n'avons pas l'habitude de les trouver garées chez nous... Même le bar était fermé... et pourtant... on aurait bien pris quelque chose de chaud... Pas grave puisque nous savions que le soir nous nous gâtions de notre beau et succulant king ... read more

NORVEGE 5 : Nature et Gourmandise.... NORRUEGA 5 : naturaleza y placer de comer... Texto en castellano debajo del francés... Le Cap Nord est à présent derrière nous... Le voyage continue pour autant... Nous n'avons pas envie de quitter trop vite cette péninsule car elle regorge de beautés tant en nature qu'en gourmandises... Nous commencerons notre journée par Gsesvaer, un village de pêcheurs perdu au bout du monde que beaucoup de touristes passent pour aller plus vite au Cap Nord... Et pourtant... Nous avons pu y faire une petite excursion en bateau afin d'approcher une des plus importantes colonies d'oiseaux de mer de Norvège. Des fous de bassan, de macareux, des cormorans et j'en passe... Pas mal d'aigles qui survolent les montagnes à la recherche de proies mais tout là haut aussi se cachent des perroquets ... read more

Nordkapp (North Cape) Norway 29 July 2014 - on top of the world This was the day/night that we had been waiting for. Will we see the midnight sun? After leaving Karasjok, the sky was cloudy and there were a few showers of rain around. We told ourselves that the sky would clear before 12MN - I am forever an optimist, but I just knew mother nature wouldn't let me down. I had waited all my adult life to see this natural phenomena. Mum and I used to talk about the midnight sun. The road north was beautiful, a little bumpy in parts and occasionally narrow, but on the whole, very good. Today is the day where I will reach North Cape. That's what I though as I woke up 180 kilometers from my target not knowing what would strike me. Early in the afternoon I reached the gorgeous waterfront where the Barents Sea barge on Europe, east of North Cape. The trip north from there was magnificent. The shapes of the rocks emerging from the sea were breathtaking all the 60 kilometers up to the final stretch. And reindeer were everywhere, ready to be run over or getting caught on some plateau not able to come down from there. Indeed, reindeer are the stupidest animal alive. God dag! 7 days and 7 days of Norway were ahead of us. Don’t read it again....you have read correctly. If half of a day is “day” and the other half is “night” then yes, we had 7 days and 7 days ahead of us. Put simply it just doesn’t get dark where we were headed and night time as we know it was not going to be with us for at least a week. Having no darkness is pretty much the premier attraction to Norway and indeed all Scandinavian countries at this time of year. Our quest was to reach Nordkapp, the most northerly point on mainland Europe.
