Flying Cat 4 is making great progress across the Aegean. It feels like barely any time has passed since leaving Santorini and we’re already pulling in to Ios for a quick pick up before heading off again at high speed towards Paros. The next stop is ours and just two and half hours after boarding the super fast cat we’ve arrived at Mykonos. We want to slow things down a bit after a busy few days on Santorini and have booked two nights at a beachfront hotel on the opposite side of the island from the main town. A member of staff from our hotel is waiting for us at the port and drives us the 15 minutes across the island to check in. At our bargain rate, we had expected a garden view room but ... read more

Ella malakas (hello americans in greek) Been in Mykonos for 3 nights. The ferry from santorini to here was very interesting, was called the flying cat, one of the speed boats, same size as the slow ferries, except it looks and travels like a bathtub toy. the lady walking up and down the aisles with the sick bags was very popular, kids and adults spewing all around, i was ok somehow, stace struggled but made it ok. The place we are staying at Paradise Beach is very cool, got upgraded coz our cheap beach cabins weren't ready yet so we have an ensuite which we weren't suppose to. Most of the shops near our beach only open later in april when it gets busier so we've had to come into mykonos town (10 min on the ... read more

Mykonos is supposed to be a very exciting place and one of the top Greek islands to visit. Its known to be a gay island and no wonder Panos used to live there! Panos had bought all of us shuttle bus tickets to get into the capital of the island - Chora, because the ship docks far away. Chora was beautiful with its colorful harbor in which fishing boats nestled happily side by side with luxury yachts. We followed Panos for the free walking tour that he promised, along the waterfront into the cycladic village with maze like narrow paths framed by dazzlingly white washed buildings, all looking ancient. Rajesh kept taking lots of pictures, while I paid attention to the stories that Panos told us. He said that Mykonos was one of the most expensive ... read more

Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111 By far our highlight so far... An early start saw us set sail on the blue star ferries... destination one Mykonos. Arriving in the port a sea of white greeted us upon its shore with all the houses picture perfect. Staying at Paradise Beach Camping ground it was straight to the beach for some well deserved sun baking and swimming. First thing noted.... naked penis flapping in the wind... second thing noted nudie rudies running everywhere... third... they were all old.... hehe.... A few happy snaps later it was time to get ready for a big night out. Sunset photos and a quick tour later it was time for food. How exciting! Our first greek restaurant proved to be amazing. Andy had lamb somethingarather in foil, Jen had stuffed calamari whole yummmmmmmmm...... It was then ... read more

Location: Delos and Mykonos Weather: Sunny, 26 °C Delos has to be the windiest place on earth! Our guide told us that there were only two types of hairstyle on Delos - the windy look or hat hair! We arrived in Delos by tender boats and it was a very choppy trip to the dock. By law no one is permitted to live on Delos or swim in its waters (except the security guards). The whole island is one giant archaeological site. The city itself must have been huge and was a significant religious centre and trading port for the ancient Greeks. No one died or was born on Delos, they had to travel to the neighbouring island for births and deaths. All food was grown on the other island or imported. Delos was throbbing with ... read more

August 22 - August 28 To get to Mykonos we took a slow, six hour ferry. Booking and getting to the ferry wasn't a problem, however getting a seat was. On the boat Zara and I scouted out the most comfy seats available and found a great spot next to a window. Slowly but surly the seats around us were filling up. Then suddenly people were being evicted from their seats. See, you needed a reservation. We didn't know this but found out we could reserve on the boat for a small fee. Well, when we went to do this the lady in front of us got the last two seats. By this time every other free seat was taken. So, we had to sit in the aisle for the remaining five hours. When in Europe ... read more

Greece is different! Got to Athens. which isnt the cleanest place. and alot of buildings are out of use. i dont know what i was expecting but something a little different obviously. SIgned into pagration youth hostel and met up with jess and jessie. got a bite to eat then had a siesta. When i awoke we walked into town. On this walk we saw the temple of zeus. Athens Gate then headed on over to the new acropolis museum. it was really interesting and might have reignited some of my passion for archaeology. very cool. we saw the acropolis from a distance and then bought some bread and dips 2 euro each for dinner and sat in the park. 2nd day woke up at 5am and ventured onto the streets. we had decided to catch ... read more

Hotel Reputation costs more than Human Life??? My name is Vladimir Lalov. I work as a marketing intern in a Czech company. The summer of 2009 will remain unforgettable for me - in the worst possible sense.Instead of having a deserved rest in a safe and hospitable island, I was forced to suffer nightmares and experience moments of helplessness and terror. Although some of my friends and the Greek police suggested I should try to forget everything because I was lucky and it could have been “much worse”, I do not want to forget, mainly because what happened to me may happen to other unsuspecting tourists in the future. On July 26 this year I went on vacation to the island of Mikonos, Greece. We stayed at Hotel Eva (Ornos). The owners of the 4-star hotel - ... read more
