Hey everyone! I hope all are well and not to cold and wet! I have just got back from another week logging in Austria. This time in the mountains in a little place called Grossreifling. Amazing country. Big rivers and very steep hills! It is nice being back in Hopfen. I can relax for a few days! Although this weekend I have been invited to experience beer drinking Bararian style by one of the girls who rides on the farm. I am not sure what that really means but I bet its fun! Ha! I will report back on that one. I had one long weekend in Ansbach with Melanie a couple of weeks ago. Lots of really good food, and a little bit of beer. My ability to handle german beer has me fearing ... read more

After leaving Amsterdam we headed over to BERLIN, the drive was so long. As soon as we arrived, dinner was served with these massive beers, real cheap too. That night the group went to the local bar and had an awesome time. That’s when I introduced the JAGGERBOMBS to the Americans, they all loved it. I even manage to get some of the Chinese drunk, good fun. The next day we had a 3 hr walking tour around Berlin, so much history and so much to do. Once the tour was done, I and 3 others decided to venture to the outskirt of Berlin to see a Concentration Camp. It was about an hr away by train and worth the visit. The camp itself was liberated by the Russians therefore less known. It was a ... read more

Germany (12th - 19th June, 2007) This was just the beginning of our 5 week Western Europe Trip through Germany, Austria, Italy & Greece and featured; * Me * My Mum * Bernadette * Elizabeth * Tom The Tesco Tent - Bern & Elizabeth's tent which cost 15 pounds and was very mishapen by the end of the trip. It was farewelled in Santorini, never to return to London. * Sammy The Salewa Tent (definitely not from Tescos supermarket) who managed to be uprouted 2 more times than Tom. I am claiming that Sammy was protecting Tom or holding him up! * Terry The Terribly Slow Tranjia which we cooked on. * Hubba Hubba our Hire Car with the number plate HHBB * Sally the Satiellite Navigational System who saved us from getting lost a few ... read more

Colonge and the Rhine River ValleyJulie J Vanover I came to Cologne because I wanted to see the Rhine River Valley and Cologne was the coolest city- by far- around the area. I didn't do alot of sightseeing in Cologne because I always was getting in really late. I did see the Cathedral there which is massive, you step out of the train station and the Cathedral is literally right there. It is so big that your neck gets tired looking at it. Just walking around it was a workout. Unfortunately this was really all that I saw of Cologne, this city is on my list of cities to see more of. There isn't a whole lot to say about my cruise down the Rhine, I started in Koblenz and ended in Bingen see the "best ... read more

Hallo, Everyone! I hope life is pleasant and sunny on your side of the pond! Germany is doing well; the weather was a scorcher this weekend! How was it in the States? It’s not like I could get a clear answer to that question, though, since you readers are located everywhere from California, Montana, and Colorado, to New York City, Chicago, and Boston. And there are also European readers in the bunch, so it’s not fair to you either. Before I get into the traveling business, don’t forget to vote! I’ve received many votes so far, but I’d love to hear more opinions from the rest of you! With roughly 100 friends and family reading this weekly, I could definitely conduct a semi-professional survey of North American perceptions of Europe and so on. So vote. ... read more
