For all of you who were hoping, begging and preying that I will never make into the cockpit of a real life aircraft... you should have tried harder!!! About a week ago I past my final check in the simulator- which means I will soon be flying real life people in real life aircrafts all around europe. Its a scary thought- I know. Now, the highlight I want to write about this time is our landing training. For one weekend they gave us one Airbus 320 to try and land it a couple of times. Preferably using the main landing gear... If you now think „What? They gave you an aircraft and let you fly it for fun?“ Yep you are right. Of course we had some training captains sitting next to us giving us some ... read more

Hallo alex here: Saddly we didnt make it to Czech:( It would have cost 250 Euro with trains and accommodation only for one day sightseeing, so its on the agenda next time for sure. We are currently in a student flat of Silvias 20yr old brother Andres, in Frankfurt. Andres is super lovely, and after spending a yr in texas, speaks awesome english. (Its cool, because hes not particulary enchanted with America, gives him and Ez lots of common ground). Spent the last 2 evenings drinking Becks and having no bed. But sleeping on the floor isnt too bad ... Frankfrut seems sofar way more commercial than Berlin, it has enormous storied buildings and loads of neon lights and not much old city charm, also diverse people of every race live here..V. cosmopoliton Wer'e both just ... read more

It is quite amazing how much you can get out of a small piece of paper. Because of the tiny boarding pass stub from my Hong Kong-Zürich flight in first class (a small piece of paper of 8 x 5 cm) I managed to get access to three first class lounges in Hong Kong, the arrivals lounge in Zürich, two first class lounges in Zürich, and the fantastic Lufthansa first class lounge in Frankfurt. I bet they wish they had never given it to me, they can't have made much profit with all my glasses of champagne and hot food :D But well I did not make up the rules, I just followed them all too well! :D Anyway, this would be part 3 of my trip back to Europe from Hong Kong to Brussels after ... read more

That's how I felt going back to Germany, even though it was just for a few hours... I met Aaron at the tube station around 7am (on a SATURDAY!!) and we went to the airport, which wasn't busy, pretty alright...and bc of all that security stuff flying from London I had to get rid of toothpaste, deodorant, moisturizer and the last bottle of Jäger I bought in Germany (still had it...)!! I even took a few sips, it was 8am and a guy walking by me started laughing, but you know...I had to THROW IT OUT!!! It was painful.. :/ Anyways, once you pass security, there's a Boots, so we just bought everything there, had coffee, off we go and flight 30min or so delayed, then at the airport, a while to find the girls, ... read more

Geee- it really got a little dusty in here- huuh whats that? Must be the remainders of a pizza I had when I was writing the last blog- move along you filthy thing! Ah well- no excuses... A day out of a student pilots life. Chances are I will bore many of you to death. But since I haven't written a blog for quite some time I just wanted to give you the chance to take part on my life for a very brief time again. A lot has happened since the last blog- I know- much of that worth writing a blog. But since I'm a lazy ass I never „found the time“ (Yeah- whatever...!). Anyway, for those of you who care- I am good, healthy, well fed and I've got a new uniform to ... read more

I was up early Sunday morning to catch the 07:28 train to Frankfurt. Here, myself and five other girls were joining up with Team Bank of America in the Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure.” Our team had about 45 or 50 people from all over Germany, but during the event, we were spread out through a crowd of thousands. There were four thousand eight hundred participants in the breast cancer benefit, 500 of whom were survivors. Even though I couldn’t tell quite how many people participated when I was in the midst of the crowd, walking across one bridge during the race and seeing mobs of people on another bridge downriver, I could tell I was one of a great many. Most of my coworkers (along with myself) opted for the 2 km walk ... read more

So I have made it to Germany. Had a pretty nice day of travelling yeasterday, even though I was very tired at the end of the day after three flights and very little sleep the night before departure. And then Moderaterna won the Swedish election, and there will be a change of government!! What a nice day!! Had a great stay at the Radisson Hotel in Frankfurt, what a fantastic hotel!!! It opened in November 2005, so it was brand new and had a really cool design! It is the first time ever I have got a guided tour of the breakfast buffet, but it was needed as the buffet was divided into different rooms. I got my upgrade as well (due to my SAS gold card), I was upgraded to a very large Business class ... read more
