day 11-For legal reasons, we can't include info about our jobs on this blog. Loz has kept a diary which can only be described as outrageous and is bound to shock people back home. With our bikinis on underneath our clothes, we head straight to the beach on paradise island after work. watched the final of americas bets dance crew. That night the island had a powercut, no water and no electricity. we were not impressed. day 12-Couldnt see much whilst getting ready for work. Nat fell over everything. Headed to Atlantis resort on paradise island in the evening with nadine. We were definitely in the right place to find a hot wadded hunk. Went to the aquarium and saw the biggest stingray which resembled a space ship. Able to touch the starfish, loz put her ... read more

Day 3 we met the landlord for the first time named miss rowles who looked like she was from 'sister sister'. We then headed to the beach and the sun was beating down on us. The immature kids in the group nat and loz decide to do a twizzer on the sand, only for nat to let go of lozzas hands and for her to go flying into the sea. After 4 hours on the beach we head back to our apartment and Amelia resembled a lobster. sunstroke right there!! We later then walk to the supermarket, a 15 minute walk. The sun was out and nat couldnt look more like curly sue and loz looked liked a little jewish boy. blessed with the frizz. Arrived at the supermarket and loz stocked up on her peanut ... read more

4/8/12 - Galveston– We plan to start around 8 am but as usual are late. We leave the house at 8:30 am and start the long drive to Galveston. Rohan is his usual cooperative self, taking a nap most of the way. We stop at the rest stop in Columbus, TX and feed him and let him stretch his pudgy little legs. We reach Galveston at 1 pm and park at the EZ parking lot very close to the Cruise terminal. We catch the shuttle to the ship and are checked right away and are on the ship in less than 20 minutes. We love our room with a great balcony and lots of storage area to store Rohan’s stuff. We go to the Lido deck (Deck 10) and get some cheese pizza, the first food ... read more

4 am...that's how early I woke up this morning. With two duffel bags just under 50 lbs, I made it out of the Philadelphia airport and 2 1/2 hours later landed in Orlando. After about a 2 hour layover, I arrived in Nassau around 2:45. First off, the weather is incredible here. About high 70's and sunny!!! What a nice change from snow and 30 degree weather. Another weird thing about the Bahamas is that they drive on the opposite side of the road. But not just that, they also have 2 different types of cars. You can choose what side of the car you want the sterring wheel....all I can say is that I'm very confused! I'm staying in a hotel called the Comfort Suites on Paradise Island. I have never been to the Bahamas ... read more

For a change, and upon request, I didn't attend Cup Match in Bermuda this year for my birthday. I went to the Bahamas instead. We stayed at the Wyndham Nassau resort in a room with a balcony and great views overlooking poolside and the ocean. The food at the Wyndham was mostly mediocre and overpriced; though best at the grill restaurant outside, despite the constant battle with flies. The bartenders at the swim-up bars made pretty good drinks, though little conversation. Fortunately the vaunted Fish Fry (actually kind of a strip mall of presumably locally-owned restaurants) was nearby with really good fare at reasonable prices. The macaroni and cheese was just like my mama used to make! A short bus trip downtown yielded the usual souvenir market, crammed with shoppers fresh off cruise ships buying fake ... read more

I woke up at noon, glorious noon. Today was the day it was supposed to be 80 degrees! It was going to be warm! And I was going to lay out and get a tan and drink pina colada's on the beach and -- It was freezing!!! We started the day off in the diner. Breakfast food was already gone so we ate lunch food. My breakfast was pork and rice and ice cream and tea. It was very good, actually. We hadnt signed up for any excursions. We just planed to explore the island on our own, take a trip out to Atlantis and then on to Senor Frogs. Yes it is the "touristy" thing to go do, but I had never been. And besides, we had gotten word that they have excellent beef nachos. ... read more

Marcia and I have known each other for 6 years. We met while working at Disney world back in the day, January 2004. Both of us share a love for traveling, dogs, and good cooking. Both of us share a love of Sex and the city, and we both definatly share a dislike of lying men. Lol, well, its true. So, us going on a wonderful 3 day cruise seemed fitting for our adventurous personalities. 2 1/2 years ago, Sept 2007 we had "tentatively" set up a backbacking trip. We would plan to leave on jan 2, 2010 to backpack across Europe. We had over 2 years to save up. We'd do it! Well....we didnt. NOTHING got saved up!! (although, I did make a trip out to Europe in the last 2 yrs....lol) anyway, this past ... read more

I’m a month and a day away from the end of this contract and going home. Meanwhile, something exciting is happening to help the time go by - my sister Melanie and her friend Jessica have come to cruise with me!! The girls arrived yesterday when we were in Miami. They stepped on the ship and I immediately took care of them at the lobby bar! I had to work both in the afternoon and evening, but in between we had a lovely dinner in the dining room and then we closed the night in the crew bar. Today is their first port and we’re in Nassau, Bahamas. Of the things to do, they wanted to see Atlantis. So we took the water taxi across to Paradise Island. At this point, I’m becoming a bit of ... read more

Nicole, Steph, and I had been waiting weeks to visit the Atlantis Resort while we were in Nassau, and we were finally all off duty in the port together, so off to Atlantis we went. We were super excited to see sharks, as Nicole has a great fear/strange obsession with them and we knew it would be exciting for her to see them. We purchased the "Discover Atlantis" package, and spent the day exploring the aquariums. There were tons of cool fish, a manaray, sharks, and I finally got to see what a sea horse looks like! I was surprised at how many of the fish I could identify and name. I guess my fish ID course from diving paid off! We had a lot of fun hanging out today for the day, as it was ... read more

mini-Dec. 30 - Atlantis (17)

We were calling this trip an escape from our everyday life...although, since neither Beth nor I have started our new jobs yet (although we are both employed!!) our everyday life still seems pretty damn good to us! But nonetheless, Beth, my mom, her friend Jackie and I all went on a fabulous trip to the Bahamas for a week. After hearing some positive experiences, and researching how amazing Atlantis Resort looked, we decided to splurge. Well....although the trip itself was a lot of fun, I don't think any of us will be coming back to Atlantis anytime soon!!! I don't know how the resort stays open, because almost everything about it was horrible!! The rooms were outdated, but that by itself would be fine. The service was horrible, housekeeping was horrible, and the prices for their ... read more
