Geo: -37.8146, 144.957We arrived on Monday 6 Feb and checked in to our "timeshare" Wyndham Hotel.Did touristy tram rides and walks on Mon and Tue. It was good because most of my trips to Melbourne have been for work and I haven't really seen the city through tourist eyes. The trees and greenery are great as is the architecture, including the modern buildings.Had a lovely catch-up and dinner with Robyn's relatives Barb and Jim on Tue evening.... read more

Geo: 25.0801, -77.3416Relaxing sea day yesterday. We asked for a curry dinner last night (with a day's notice they'll serve almost anything - except Vegemite) and they did a fine job. Chicken, lamb and beef curries with breads, raita, the works. As it turned out lobster thermidor was on the regular menu, so we had that too! None of our shipmates liked curry so we ate only with Peter and Susan. They are staying on board for a second cruise to Los Angeles via the Panama - watch out waistlines!Our musicians whimsically call themselves "A Band on Ship". Clever.Did a two-hour coach tour of Nassau. Getting a little jaded with these. One interesting fact was that here they have two Mardi Gras-like parades in the "Junkanoo" festival. Imperial units of measure seem the norm. The UK appoints the (imported) Governor but the 13-person parliament is locally elected.The nearby Norman Island is immortalised as RLS's Treasure Island, and there's also a Dead Man's Chest island. All very piratical.I ordered a caramel milkshake at lunch. The waiter came back to apologise that they had caramel syrup but no caramel ice cream. Would I like something else, or would vanilla ice cream be OK? They try pretty hard on this ship.... read more

A missile defence system - really?See pic - Super yacht "Luna". Built 2009, cost USD 545M. Length 115m.- 10 VIP guest cabins over 100 square metres each, a 20 metre indoor/outdoor swimming pool, 9 decks and a large outdoor entertaining area. Luna is also equipped with 8 tenders, 1 mini-submarine and a crew of 50 persons.- Fitted with an anti-missile system like its sister yacht, Eclipse. All windows are bulletproof to B7+ levels.
