We arrived on Monday 6 Feb and checked in to our "timeshare" Wyndham Hotel.

Did touristy tram rides and walks on Mon and Tue. It was good because most of my trips to Melbourne have been for work and I haven't really seen the city through tourist eyes. The trees and greenery are great as is the architecture, including the modern buildings.

Had a lovely catch-up and dinner with Robyn's relatives Barb and Jim on Tue evening.

It was chilly on Monday but got quickly hotter each day.

We did a long walk through the sports precinct where they were still tidying up after the tennis Open. Crossed over the Yarra and enjoyed a pretty walk back to the city, past Southgate and Southbank.

Just around the corner from Barb and Jim's place. We met their son Don and his wife Ros and had a very pleasant Italian meal with excellent wines from Jim's cellar. Jim gave us a bottle of his epic personal Muscat, a spectacular 40+ year-old vintage in a private cask.
