A pretty view over the bay. The current governor's house was built next door. Seven Seas Explorer docked with the much larger Holland America ship behind.

Aspects of life on the British Virgin Islands (BVI) seem schizophrenic. The currency is USD. They drive on the left, but the great majority of vehicles are left hand drive. Imperial units of measure seem the norm. The UK appoints the (imported) Governor but the 13-person parliament is locally elected.

The nearby Norman Island is immortalised as RLS's Treasure Island, and there's also a Dead Man's Chest island. All very piratical.

I ordered a caramel milkshake at lunch. The waiter came back to apologise that they had caramel syrup but no caramel ice cream. Would I like something else, or would vanilla ice cream be OK? They try pretty hard on this ship.
