Hello from Vielha, Well I got here ! Start in Spain, cross over to France and back over the mountains into Spain. it was a journey of about 300 Kms today with a bit of everything.Mountain roads,motorway,sunshine, rain and finally sunshine again. I left Hotel Aragon and Jaime this morning shortly after eight and headed up past Jaca towards the French border. It was about 17 degrees in Jaca but only about 10 degrees at the Somport pass. I had been advised to forget the tunnel and take the road over the pass. Incredible is only one of the words that I could use. The one thing about being on the road and traveling in this manner is that sometimes you wake up and wonder which hotel/city/place you are in today. Well , I am in the same place as the day before. Huesca. Woke up early this morning , 07.30 and will write down and post yesterdays blog before the impressions fades from the mind. Tuesday started off as all other days have, with fantastic sunshine. I had been a bit worried because the evening news was full of pictures of thunder storms, especially in the Pyrenees. Good morning from Segovia, Its monday morning and seeing as yesterday I posted nothing ,here goes. I think this will be more photos than text as yesterday was Sunday and I took the scenic route. I started from Plasencia at just before eight in the morning and headed up the Jerte valley. Almost no traffic and wonderful scenery. I turned off the N110 to head into the Gredos. Following sadvice from The "Best biking roads "Site I crossed over the whole mountain range. Awesome and built for motorbikes. I stopped for breakfast at a well known bike Cafe and had a Bocadillo and several coffees before heading on. My plan had been to stay in Avila but I took a detour to San lorenzo de Estorial. Welcome back! As I write I am sitting at the stern end of the LP - Huelva ferry looking over a calm sea and it is twenty past eight in the morning. I have already had breakfast and a good nights sleep.I left the saloon area of the ship last night at about ten because they were just starting with the Kids disco. I decided that the VIP lounge would be quieter and retired there. After reading for a while I put the seat back and went to sleep. I got a good nights sleep thanks to the ear plugs ( do not forget them ). Late at night and ready for bed.Arrived from Fuerteventura on the Armas ferry at about 21.45 and headed for the hotel Santa Catlina. Threw my bags in the room and went out to eat. Got back at 00.30 and will head to bed as the ferry leaves for Huelva in the morning at 08.00!!... read more
