Welcome back!
As I write I am sitting at the stern end of the LP - Huelva ferry looking over a calm sea and it is twenty past eight in the morning. I have already had breakfast and a good nights sleep.I left the saloon area of the ship last night at about ten because they were just starting with the Kids disco. I decided that the VIP lounge would be quieter and retired there. After reading for a while I put the seat back and went to sleep. I got a good nights sleep thanks to the ear plugs ( do not forget them ). Just before seven in the morning the sun starts to shine in the main front windows and very soon it was too bright for me to sleep. I think it was the first time in several years that I have slept in my clothes and to be honest you wake up feeling a bit rumpled. The first thing I did was head off to the wash rooms and had a wash and clean up.Feeling a lot better I headed off to breakfast.
At breakfast there is a choice of breakfast types ,hot english (
Hmmmm ! ) , French and Mediterranean. If you go for the hot then you will need one of the four microwaves which are scattered around the eating area. The quantities of food served are large but the food does tend to be lukewarm at best. I did see one or two people heating up food they had brought with them and it would be an option to consider.
There is still no internet on the ship due to a fault in their systems. We are out of rang for mobile coverage so the general feeling is of being a bit disconnected. I am sure that the moment we come into range of land the phones are all going to start ringing at once as the messages all start arriving. Not having internet is a bit annoying as I would have liked to do a bit of planning and research during the time on board.
I will have to send this at some time tonight when I arrive at the hotel. We are scheduled to arrive at 19.00 and I am still undecided whether to get a tent in Decathalon in Huelva. The last weather forecast I had for
the Pyrenees was for some rain and low temperature which would make a hotel much more preferable.
Wait and see.
Well I got here and had a great nights sleep and have just got back from breakfast. Planned timetable is already gone, but so what. The birds are singing ,the sun is shining and there is a fantastic smell of trees and flowers.
arriving in Huelva was without problem although the sun was going down and it was almost 10 pm before I got going from the ship. First impressions were of an industrial landscape which somehow managed to look attractive in the evening sun and about 27 degrees. The journey to the hotel was without problem although the surface of the roads did leave something to be desired.
I can recommend this hotel PRECISE RESORT , EL ROMPIDO to anyone , price is great , food fantastic, location superb and the staff all friendly. Great feature in the bathrooms I will put in mine also, a infrared heat lamp in the ceiling for aching bones and drying one after a shower….its the little things in life !
Ok got to go, will upload photos and then
its "Hit the road jack" Next time will be from God knows where….nothing booked until next thursday !
Have a nice day !
