I've enjoyed following you this season... and hope you continue writing about your travels in the British Isles. What a perfect location to winter over!
My hometown! How strange to see a blog on Ipswich! Can't say I've ever seen many tourists about. It's nice to see photos of home here, although it looks like the weather is typically Autumnal , bleak, grey skies and rain! I hope you enjoyed Christchurch mansion. I was last there with my class from school! If you ever get to see the film 'Private Peaceful' it was filmed at the mansion.
Anna - thanks for touching base We did enjoy Christchurch & our stay in your hometown area. Checked out your blog & we would excited to see that you saw Botswana as we had lived there for 5 years - it brought back great memories for us as well! Keep enjoying your travels!
Really enjoying your blog You guys are amazing. Since we met you in Gananoque we have been following your travels. Inspiring.
Safe travels,
Paul

Dave - thanks Dave - glad you picked up on the photo - that was what I was aiming for when I saw the flag flying on the stern of the ferry - I was glad I was able to catch it!
Great meeting you! Dear Bob and Janice, it was great meeting you yesterday at the marina in Lelystad. We hope the problems with the ship will be sorted soon! Sorry we had to go as it was great listening to your adventures. But we'll follow your blog and hope you can continue your travels soon. Kind regards, Monique and Theo Zuijdwijk
Nelson - you'll have to come for a visit! Hi Nelson - it really is a great place to visit (and almost everyone speaks English as well) so it makes it easy to get around. You'll have to plan a trip over to see where your ancestors came from!
sThinking of you both, reading and enjoying your \'tales\', so excititng! Summer has been wonderful in the Finger Lakes, however, fall school taxes went up!! ugh.Have only been on lake Cayuga twice this summer, so sad. Gary is running for office this year and alot at stake, (fracking), so we will be going door to door and really \'campainging\' for 1st time in 15 years! (where is the spell check!) Love Kate and Gary safe travels
Great to hear from you It is always nice to hear from people back "home"! We wish Gary well with the campaign. Sorry we aren't there to help as we need good people like Gary in office. Sorry to hear you haven't been on the lake much this summer - best wishes with the election - we will be rooting for you! Keep us posted and best wishes to the whole family!!

You might want to edit the Entry Date to read 2 August... and other blog Entry Dates so that your blogs are all in chronological order. I found that helpful when I blogged all my trips. Of course, that is also the engineer in me...keeping things in order.
thanks Thanks for the suggestion - I wondered about doing that but wasn't sure how that would show up - now that I know I'll do that as I would prefer them in order as well!
I thought you originally planned to go as far as the Baltics this summer... but plans can change and there is no hurry! Thanks for continuing to post...you do have readers.
plans definitely change! Bob - yes, the original plan was the Baltic but we realized when we were traveling up the coast of Spain that it was not realistic if we wanted to see things along the way . We slowed down to enjoy the travels instead as the Baltic will be there next year! We will be heading to London for the winter and then next season we hope the Baltic. Thanks for coming along on our travels!
Improving North Great to see you are improving North so well!
Extraordinary pictures, extraordinary Brittany...extraordinary tidal range!!
Thank you for blogging your experience.
All the best from Cangas (ES).

lots of history here Yes, hopefully the history lessons aren't getting to be too much - we are having a hard time grasping it all ourselves as there is so much here to absorb!
I too recently saw "The Way"... and being a goal oriented person was inspired to walk the pilgrims' trail. The attendant who pushed my wheel chair (I was still recovering from a broken ankle) on to my recent from from London to DFW had just finished the 800 km walk in 30 days. We had a chance to talk about his experience, which further inspired me. However, with my weaken ankle I didn't know whether I was physically up to it. Your picture of the various "Ways" turned a light bulb on in my brain. The English Way is very short, but the Original Way isn't that much longer and is the original one after all. I think I could do that! Thanks for posting that picture...do you know in which town it starts?

Bob - glad you have been inspired in many ways - good luck and keep us posted in your plans - check out the website and click on the tab for the Way of St James - it will give you lots of info for those wanting to do it. Best wishes & hope your ankle is doing better.
I don't know how far north you are looking at forecasts... but northern Europe has had a dreadfully wet and cold spring thus far. I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to get there!
? We are really suffering from the cold. I can't remember such a long cold period in spring and early summer. Have a good trip and nicer weather
Love A.
Like so many others we love to travel and we love to sail so cruising makes a lot of sense. Janice has retired from Cornell as a business manager and Bob has retired from South Seneca school district as the high school principal. It's time to sell the house, get rid of whatever doesn't fit on our 40 foot Caliber LRC named Tsamaya (this means Travel Well in Setswana) and set off to see the world. Our reasons for publishing this blog is twofold, first to keep in touch with our friends and family and secondly to share our experiences. If you would like to receive notification when we have added ... full info
