After a well needed afternoon off, its time to get back to it. The morning is a beautiful sunny day, and strangely it might even be described as comfortable. I dont think I've ever used that word to describe the temperature here in any of the trips. It's crazy, there was a nice cool breeze coming up the BTS steps, but that was soon forgotten arriving at the gym. Even though it wasn't nearly the 115 heat index from last year, and the temperature was only 85F (probably hotter in Savannah) the sweat still pours out. After the 10 laps and 10 minutes of jump rope, if you can imagine stepping out of a nice cool pool and watching the water drip off your body before you towel off - that's what it's like here. My ... read more

working towards a normal eating and sleeping routine. Last night I was falling asleep while typing and don't even remember finishing before falling asleep probably about 8:20 by the clock on the Fitbit. woke up about 12:30, but fell back asleep until 4, so that is the longest I've sleep since I've landed here. Hotel internet is not connecting so it makes it tough to update. Luckily, i decided to take the afternoon off from the gym. I think the extra time to recharge will help for the next few days. I'm sore, and the bruises are starting to surface. So today, a real lunch for a change at the Australian Pub. And no time constraint, its a luxury. So for the morning training, it was the normal 10 laps, which took about 35 or 40 ... read more

Once again, awake at about 1:30, but since I was asleep at 8, I stayed up. Cleaned up some clothes and random housekeeping stuff to get ready for toady. Also did lots of water loading, and stretching to hopefully avoid those painful cramps from yesterday. Weather looks ok so far, but I think it rained last night. A couple things I've learned, you can not drink too much water here. And that no matter how much you've trained, or how good of shape you think you are, the first day here just kicks your butt. The morning session went a little better today. I got to the gym a little earlier to do the jogging just a little slower. While I was running, I saw my trainer walking in with his dogs and no hello or ... read more

This is gonna hurt..... I'm already tired. Woke up at 1 last night, but did get back to sleep at 3. The Fitbit says I logged 12.5 miles yesterday. Wonder how much that goes up today. Weather looks good so far, I just don't want to jump rope forever..I'm sure there will be 15 minutes of it after running this morning though. breakfast is crazy packed, looks like tour groups today from the number of busses in the lot. Time to head for the skytrain, just me and my butterflies.... Well, I was right. It hurts. I couldn't even write and update at lunch, and wish I did because all I want to do right now is sleep. The morning session was 9 laps and 10 minutes jump rope. That really wasnt so bad, and the ... read more

Morning in Bangkok at the breakfast buffet. A popular place especially at 7:30 in the morning. Sleeping is way out of whack and no doubt will be looking for some serious afternoon nap today. Not much luck sleeping on the long flight to Seoul, but couldn't keep awake on the short flight (4 hours) to Bangkok. Korean air has probably the worst airline food and TV/movie selection I've experienced yet. But for the price of the ticket, I couldn't beat it. I paid $200 more for the trip here than I did recently for a round trip to Atlanta. How does that make any sense at all? Seems the rains have been heavy in the north, and there is talk of flooding, but not in Bangkok. I did see shops have stacks of sandbags outside their ... read more

So far the flights are working it fine. 9:00 departure from Savannah, and a 2.5 hour layover in ATL. Surprisingly, I got into the Delta club so I can have a breakfast/lunch before the next wonderful 15 hour flight with all that great airline food. I'll be stuffing everything I can into my backpack. So far this website isn't as intuitive as the previous one, so hopefully I'll learn how to work it as I go.... read more
