Geo: 37.9795, 23.7162day NINETY THREE...what sick bastard goes away for that long!!i am seriously home sick....glad i'm here, but still home sickmy cousin had a boy :):) we knew it would be a boy because they saw his peepee in an ultrasound months agobeing in athens for a month with family has been so great...and being in athens for a month has reminded me exactly why i ran away from here and back to sydney 11 years ago...i'll always love it here, my other home, but fuck me it's an infuriating place with people so stuck in their infuriating ways - and of course with me being stuck in my own infuriating ways, those given to me by my australian upbringing which advocates a way of life geared toward acceptance and understanding of differences, well, we ... read more

Geo: 41.8955, 12.4823this is one of the cities i never really cared about visiting and it ends up being the one i am most wrong about...Rome is absolutely wonderful and stunning to walk around, and the convergence of past, present and future is the greatest i have ever is now one of my most favourite cities in the world, and seeing as i loved florence as well, it seems i adore italy (i'll just pretend that venice doesn't exist)the vatican - they should stop people at the gate and ask them weirdo religious questions to prove they are catholics before allowing them in, because really, the whole of the vatican was just lost on me...i was so bored i started to take self-shots making faces...big, grand, bourgeois (i thought they were meant to be humble??), ... read more

Geo: 40.7492, 14.5007Amalfi and Positano are picturesque and quite lovely...probably a haven of beauty and awe for those who don't have seaside beaches as part of their lives, but as usual for aussies it's just 'aaawww cute"...i gave up looking for great beaches outside of australia some years agoNaples is DODGY! i've heard "be careful in southern italy, it's dangerous" but that's actually quite inaccurate...the reality is "don't ever go to napoli, you will get shot"...the locals can't wear helmets when riding bikes or scooters because it will be assumed they are 'hiding' and possibly on their way to a drive-by shooting, so someone will shoot them first...other than the impracticality of dying from a stray bullet while on holiday, increasing your chances of having a bad day, Napoli actually looks like a shithole - so ... read more

Geo: 41.1261, 16.8693WE MISSED THE BOAT TO ITALY!!!I'll get to that soon…let me catch you up…So we moved from our gorgeous pink mansion on the mountainous/sunset side of santorini to the black sand/beach side (had I told you it was pink? Well it was, and it was stunning)…we succeeded in doing nothing, mainly because there was nothing to do…the 'town' (Kamari) was a bit on the dodgy side…there were lots of empty restaurants (it seems the season ends sooner on this side of the island) and lots of employees, in the shops and in the hotels, who weren't of greek origin – not that there's anything wrong with that, it was just really weird speaking greek to people in Greece and having them look at me like I was the spasticAnd woe is us, the suite ... read more

Geo: 36.4044, 25.3959people tell you your whole life that it's unique and beautiful but you don't really get a grip on just how much until you see it with your own eyes, and pictures will never do it is just so incredible...small villages built on the top of a mountain and on the edges of cliffs...the main road is on the eastern edge and to get to the western side, where the sun sets, you need to walk through small cobbled streets over the top of the mountain and then down the other makes for interesting leg pain but is very well worth itway back when, the only way to get from the port to the town was to walk or ride a donkey...nowadays they have a proper road for cars (for the new ... read more

Geo: 37.0737, 25.3515food...beach...quad LIFE IS SO HARD!!our first night here we were up at 2am...the air con wasn't working and as well as not being able to breathe we were making detailed plans on how we would viciously and with great prejudice maim the people next door (and their dog) who were singing loudly with no end in sight (it was actually saturday night and it was a live music club, literally under our balcony)...they're still alive, the dogs are cute, and the air con is ok, so life went back to being good after a couple of coffees on sunday morningthere is literally nothing to do here, but we've tried really hard (coz we are true go-getters deep, deep down)...we are trying different restaurants every evening and alternating between having a late lunch and ... read more

Geo: 51.054, 3.72169i spent a wonderful night and day in Gent with E and her friend T (she brought a friend with her in case i was a fat 50 year old man holding his dick...heehehe)i'm really glad i went to Gent as well and not only Bruges...bruges is entirely picture-perfect and breathtaking, but Gent is real and lived-in, it's loved and appreciated and kept alive by the poeple who breathe it every also gave me a better understanding of belgians (the flemmish, actually) and quite simply, i love them...they seem to be wonderful people with a great style and it's not really something i saw in bruges - i didn't notice it was missing until i saw it in gent...i'll take Gent over Bruges any day (and if anyone is planning on going, uu-huuum ... read more

Geo: 51.2094, 3.22523I JUST DID THE BEST TING EVER IN MY LIFE...i went hot air ballooning - and then my camera broke so i have very limited pics!Bruges was so so very humbles you to think such gorgeous places exist -- and then annoys you that you have to spend your days working in concrete bohemouthsthe difference between the belgians who speak dutch and those who speak french is pretty instantly recognisable...the french speaking ones are wankers...i got bollocked on the train in brussels by a short frenchie chick because, obviously, it was so very my own fault that the train was busy...i just pretended that she could read minds and sent some awful images into her brain which she should have nightmares over for quite a whilebut the dutchies are so so very nice! ... read more
