Geo: 36.5976, -121.897Slept late for us.........8 am! Fixed coffee and then headed down to town to shop for groceries and do some thrift store shopping. There is always something we need to buy, Robert got a windbreaker and Laura a sweater. Really do not have room to put much more in our bags and we really have everything we need.Drove down the street along the waterfront and saw there were wooden barricades up and people standing around looking down at the water. Found a parking place and joined the crowd at the wooden barricade. It is calving season for the harbor seals and the barricade is to protect the babies and mother's from humans and dogs I am sure! Was interesting to watch the young seals and their mother swimming in the ocean and then head to ... read more

Geo: 36.6177, -121.917All packed up and ready to go. Left McKinney Falls and took the car to CubeSmart and called Uber for ride to the airport. Did curbside check in and not sure if they even weighed our luggage but was of course all pretty much at the max allowed.Ate breakfast and then were ready to board with our priority boarding pass! Both the flight to Phoenix and Oakland were fine but we did seem to slam down on both landings! No problem getting our car and we were off! Made good time getting to Monterrey and Veteran's Memorial where one of our favorite spots was available. Got the tent set up and used Uber to get down to Crown and Anchor because both were tired.Had a nice evening visiting with Art and some of the ... read more

Geo: 9.74892, -83.7534Took the bus from Puerto Jimenez to San Isidro de General and then a taxi up to San Gerardo de Rivas. Luis was there to greet us and had our room in the Roca Dura hotel!!!Had most of our meals in the evening there at the Roca Dura and visited with Luis and others while we ate. We hiked up the road to Cloudbridge and enjoyed the waterfalls. One of the days we were hiking there had been some quetzal sightings right on the trail but we were not lucky enough to see them. We did have some other amazing bird sightings and got a good workout going up the hill to Cloudbridge.Took the early morning bus down the hill and caught the bus to San Jose and ended our trip at El Cacique ... read more

Geo: 8.53622, -83.3051Stayed at Cabinas Jimenez as our last destination in Puerto Jimenez. Once again we were given a room upgrade and had a view out over the pool area. Did some kayaking over to the other manglar than the one we had been going to from Corcovado Beach Lodge because it was much closer. The tide was high and we were able to go quite a ways up into the manglar and check things out. There were not as many birds as we have seen in the past, but it was still a enjoyable time out in the kayaks.... read more
