Zainal Abidin Awang Damit
ZAAD?UK loves travelling. He loves experiencing every architecture around the World. Architecture is not only his profession but also his long passion to experience since school.
At the age of 17, he was already accepted to study Architecture at University of Technology Malaysia (UTM), Kuala Lumpur. As part of his interests, ZAADOUK visiting many interesting buildings all over 14 states in Malaysia, at neighbouring country such as Singapore, Thailand, and Brunei.
As his enthusiasm became vibrant, eager to go global, he pursued his 5 years reading in architecture at University of City Birmingham and gained his B.A.Hons, and Post Graduate in Architecture. Both Degree qualified him for Part 1 and Part 2 Professional Accredation by Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). In between semesters within the 5 years study, he worked as Graduate Architect, at Seymuor Harris Partnership, one of the oldest architectural firm in Birmingham. Every summer holidays, ZAADOUK spent his entire months travelling all over UK, Europe, the USA and Indonesia and he took photographs in the form of slides from all the interesting architecture that he encountered during the visits.
At the Birmingham School of Architecture he often invited to give talk on Indigenous Architecture from those countries he visited. ZAADOUK was a very active involved in many international architectural Design Competition. He received Green Book Awards from Birmingham RIBA, and received prestigous award that represented UK for CAA Design Competition. He also participated in the International Architectural Design Competitions in Croatia and Prague.
Back home in Malaysia, he joined University Malaysia Sabah (UMS), played his role as an Architect for the University, and sat as client representative during the Construction of its campus in Kota Kinabalu. During his tenure with UMS, he was sent for official overseas research work to Japan, Thailand, Philippine, Singapore, Hong Kong, Brunei and Indonesia, where he developed vast international relationships with other Universities as well as the youth international organization as he was actively involved in Junior Chamber International.
ZAADOUK involved various mega projects in Malaysia such as Al Bukhary University in Kedah, Casa Del Rio Hotel in Melaka, Casino and Hotels in Genting Highland and Master Plans in Middle-East. Currently he established his own company ZAADOUK CONSORTIUM located at Asia City, Kota Kinabalu. He developed new business system that responsive to current Post-Covid19 business environment, and joinly with Ministry of Communication and Multimedia conducting Digital Marketing short course all over Malaysia. Through a comprehensive Train of Trainer Certification conducted by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), ZAADOUK was conferred as a Certified Master Trainer in Digital Marketing with registration no. TG259. Subjects conducted including New Norm Online Business, Digital Marketing at Post-Covid19, Guerilla Marketing, Nomadic Entrepreneur, Online Network Business System, and Online Architectural Practice.
To date ZAADOUK CONSORTIUM practising it Nomadic Entrepreneur as he enjoying Working while Travelling all over the World. Up to now he has been visiting 43 interesting places such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Melaka, Johor, Kedah, England, Scotland, Wales, Milan, Florence, Venice, Brussels, Amsterdam, Bonn, Koln, Berlin, Potsdam, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Manila, Cebu, Jakarta, Solo, Surabaya, Jogjakarta, Bandung, Parambenan, Bali, Lombok, Bangkok, Pattaya, Singapore, Seoul, Busan, Jeju Island in Korea and Perth in Australia.
He believed that life is about creating memory, and memory best created by experiencing architecture around the World.
