I was out for a sushi dinner at 5 Saison with Gali, Erica, Ami and Aviad. Erica was saying how she was going to New York City for the weekend and then invited me to come with her - I had nothing pressing for the week after so I decided to jump on board. We left Montreal late Thursday afternoon and arrived at Erica's friend Leslie's place in NYC in the wee hours of the morning. She was busy when we arrived so her doorman was nice enough to let us in. After we brought our stuff up and Leslie was free, we headed out for a drink. It was a quick trip since the bar was deserted and we came back and crashed after. Friday morning, I headed out earlier than Erica and Leslie and ... read more

For my 25th birthday, Gali surprised me with a weekend get-away to Cowansville. Cowansville is a town in the Eastern Townships, about an hour south of Montreal close to the US border. We left Friday afternoon after Gali conquered her second med-school exam and happily escaped the city before rush-hour. The drive was pretty as we caught the last week of autumn colours and pretty short. We stayed at a beautiful B&B that Gali found called Le Clos Dauphinais. The owner Johanne was very sweet, helpful and accommodating. She also prepared a delicious breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday. Friday evening we walked around Bromont, went to the outlets there (obviously) and then grabbed a drink at a micro-brewery Le Brouemont (tasty!) before heading to La Perouse for dinner. It was delicious but expensive, much better ... read more

The cruise left from Boston and was supposed to be 6 days with 4 days on the ship and 2 and a half days docked in Bermuda. Thanks to Tropical Storm Colin, our arrival in Bermuda was delayed by a day but the ship took a wider route to get to the island and completely bypassed the storm so we had nothing but blue skies. On the return from Bermuda to Boston the weather wasn’t so accommodating with rain, wind and cloudy skies, but the sun did manage to peek out a few times. The days at sea were spent relaxing on the deck, reading, people watching and drinking. Once the boat docked at the Naval Dockyard in Bermuda we disembarked and took a ferry to St. George. We explored St. George, went inside the Crystal ... read more

In between the conclusion of Seth's summer internship at a Montreal law firm and Gali's start at McGill Medical School we decided to take a trip to Boston and Bermuda with a quick stop in Stowe on the way. Gali picked me up from work and we headed to Stowe, in Chicklet, Gali's new car. Thankfully, no traffic! Stowe was awesome as always! This short trip involved eating, relaxing and hiking to Sterling Pond. We left Stowe early in the morning and headed for Beantown. Boston got the name Beantown when it was part of the “triangular trade” in selling molasses and rum, a popular dish at the time were beans baked in molasses hence the name beantown. We stayed at my buddy Gab's place who lives in a great location in Back Bay. That afternoon ... read more
