I was out for a sushi dinner at 5 Saison with Gali, Erica, Ami and Aviad. Erica was saying how she was going to New York City for the weekend and then invited me to come with her - I had nothing pressing for the week after so I decided to jump on board.
We left Montreal late Thursday afternoon and arrived at Erica's friend Leslie's place in NYC in the wee hours of the morning. She was busy when we arrived so her doorman was nice enough to let us in. After we brought our stuff up and Leslie was free, we headed out for a drink. It was a quick trip since the bar was deserted and we came back and crashed after.
Friday morning, I headed out earlier than Erica and Leslie and just started walking from the Financial District to Soho. For a NYC virgin (I have been to NYC before but only for work or as a kid so never free to roam) it was fun to walk the streets and see what all the hype was about. Erica and Leslie met me for lunch and we dined at the Noho Star. A suggestion

For the weekend I was sleeping at Deena's. A good friend of mine from Westcoast. For some reason I have no pictures with her which sucks but she was very hospitable and we had a great weekend all together.
Deena only finished work after 5pm on Friday so I took a nap in her lobby while waiting. She arrived with a surprise guest, Blake, one of her camp friends. Blake had intended on moving to NYC but the place he was supposed to stay fell through last minute so he was staying at Deena's too.
Deena and Blake were tired and Leslie was at work so only Erica and I ended up going for dinner. We went to Mario Batali’s (Yes, the Iron Chef himself) restaurant Babbo (http://www.babbonyc.com/home.html). It was amazing; we wined, grappaed and dinned.
We woke up on Saturday and went to 2nd Ave Deli for lunch, a landmark Jewish deli. The triple

Saturday night Erica and I went to see La Cage aux Folles on Broadway which some of you may know from the Hollywood film - The Birdcage. The roles of Georges and Albin were played by Kelsey Grammer and Douglas Hodge respectively.
I woke up Sunday and headed out to explore a little more. After walking through Central Park and having some warm apple cider, I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art before meeting up with Erica and Leslie for lunch at Serendipity.
After lunch Erica and I hit the road back to Montreal.
