We woke up around 9.30AM but given the late night we took a while to get going. It was around 11.00AM by the time we left the room so it was too late to use the continental breakfast downstairs. We went down the road to Millie’s which is an all day diner. Breakfast here was really good. Kerry & I had eggs on toast with some toast, whilst Luke had a massive pancake on the side. We then headed into California Adventure Park as we still had 2 days of our 4 day passes to be used. First up Luke & I went on the Hollywood Tower Hotel ride which was good, and then we all went on a few rides in the Ant Section. Next up we went to the Paradise Pier area where we ... read more

Well I awoke around 6.30AM and peeped out the windows to see that we had arrived back at San Pedro Pier. We had chosen to do the self disembarkation which allowed us to take our own luggage off the ship. We had to meet in the Explorer’s Lounge at 8.15AM, so after our last breakfast in the Horizon Court Buffet we grabbed our luggage and headed to the elevators to go from our Deck 12 to Deck 7. Only problem is that the other 2,600 passengers were probably trying to use them as well. Luke & I decided to walk down the stairs but by the time I got to the Deck 7 I had regretted this as I was carrying a backpack full of cameras and heavy stuff and two large suitcases by hand. Today was our final day at sea and no need to get up early at all. Lazy old day and I went to se the finale of the Ryder Cup Golf which was taken out by Myrna from Greer (2 of the Kentucky ladies). I received a token second place medal as did every one else who did not win and a Princess Cruises cap. The weather was fine but a bit cooler and bit of wind around as well creating a bit of chop. Kerry & I played this game called Majority Rules. Every team writes down an answer and the most answers that are the same becomes the correct answer. It was a bit of fun but we were not good enough to win. We then went to the main showroom theater where we ... read more

First of all apologies for delay in posting blog and photo's for the last few days as I have had trouble with Internet acces on the Ship. Photo's are now available for all days. When we awoke today we were already anchored at our final port of Cabo San Lucas and got a glimpse of the rocky area and the town in the distance as we had to get tender boats to this port. We had a quick breakfast and we headed down to the Princess Theatre to await our call. Today we were going on a Zodiac boat which is an inflatable dinghy to do some whale watching. Another fine and sunny day with temps around 27 degrees although it was a bit cool in the morning. We were supposed to be at sea for ... read more

Awoke this morning to the sound of cell phone alarms which went off at the correct times. I went outside to the balcony to see whether we had arrived in port at Mazatlan. All I could see was fog. It was about 7AM and we were supposed to join our tour group at 8.15AM on shore. A short time later we heard an announcement from the Ship Captain. “As you might have noticed it is extremely foggy and we are unable to head into port. This happened yesterday and the Ships were unable to dock until 10AM once the fog had lifted.” Kerry decides to head back to sleep, the kids had not awoken, and I was sent to do the laundry. At about 7.30AM I noticed it was starting to clear up and the ship ... read more

Alarm set for 8AM and we agreed to be on our way to buffet for breakfast by 8.45AM. One problem though. We were using the cell phones as alarms and they are still on California time which is one hour behind ship time, woops ! Lucky Kerry awoke at 8.15AM, and realised. We looked outside to see the ship had arrived in the beautiful Bandaras Bay and we hurrily headed up to the Horizons Buffet for breakfast. Back to our cabin to watch as the ship docked at Puerta Vallarta. It was nice to arrive straight into dock. We exited the ship to meet up with our tour as planned at 9.15AM. We headed about 20 minutes north to Nelua Vallarta where a lot of new hotels are being built as this is one of the ... read more

I set the alarm on the mobile phone for 8AM as we had our special breakfast arriving at 9AM. The cabin is a bit cramped as we have to have one rollaway as well as two singles beds and a bunk that comes from the ceiling. There is lots of hanging space which we have not normally had on previous cruises. Breakfast costs $38-00 and we had Quiche, Tomato, Croissants, Smoked Salmon, Coffee, Juices, Fresh Fruit Platters and Champagne. Decided not to have the Champagne until later but we did see about 20 dolphins alongside the ship jumping around. There is another cruise ship alongside us which is either the Holland America Oostendam or Disney Wonder as we are all doing the same itinerary. Around 11.15AM we are sill in the cabin, and Kerry has just ... read more

Today is Sunday and it’s our first full day at sea. Up a bit late and headed to breakfast about 10.00AM in the Horizon Lounge on Deck 14 (only need to climb one flight of stairs which is good). Some eggs on toast with coffee and I’m good to go. Had a look at the Activity List and decided we’d catch the presentation about how to shop in Ports of Call in the show lounge. Some aussie guy was running this explaining why we can get Diamonds here so cheap. Something about cutting out 8-9 middle men I think he said and it was Diamonds International we need to shop at who are one of a few companies who buy direct from DeBeers who own all the world’s diamond mines. He also gave us some tips ... read more

Another great sleep on these super comfortable beds and down to the small dining area for some more continental breakkie. Arranged for Eddie our private taxi man to take us to the San Pedro Pier at 11AM to catch our cruise. Not a bad time to leave the Disneyland area as there is a massive music convention here and it’s also a long weekend with Martin Luther King Day holiday on Monday. It took about an hour to get to the pier and we experienced some pretty bad traffic on the freeway. They had seven lanes in one section and no-one was going anywhere (and this was a Saturday morning !). The port of Los Angeles is huge which is no surprise when you think this is the major port that is closest to China / ... read more

Another great night’s sleep by all and weather is unreal. Today there are forecasting a max of 27 degrees. Can you believe it ! I checked Atlanta and is is a max of 1. I am walking around in thongs (on my feet !). Another continental breakfast and then we decided to take on the suitcase changeover. We will have no need to take all the warm clothing on the Cruise so we decided to convert from 7 suitcases to 3, and leave the two largest ones an two smallest behind at the Hotel (since we are coming back here again). Well wasn’t that a challenge ! Anyway we got all that done and it was lunch time by the time we were ready to leave the room. Today we were headed for the grand old ... read more
