I'm trying out this site for the 1st time. I travel as much as possible and usually Blog my friends when I do. I hope this site may be a fit to simplify things. My plan is to walk the Camino de Santiago starting in Saint Jean Pied de Pont, France and continue on through the north of Spain to the Atlantic ocean. I'm thinking it will take me about a month and a half. Not sure when I'm going, but I'm going, so I thought I might prepare by getting this site to work.

Hi, Well we are in Sarria. About 20 kilos from our last stop. We have a dog here that is chased away from every restaurant 20 times and just moves on to the next. A nice enough dog, but a beggar. The locals apparently know him. I would probably keep him, Because he is non allergenic. He also doesn't seem to be a pest. O and by the way I didn't check, so I assume the He part. It's weird to watch people harvest potatoes? What a ball busting amount of work for a spud. And to think how much us Americans take advantage of a bag of potatoes. I have watched these people harvest there food daily and I sweat watching them. Bless the farmers for their work, it is far harder than we think ... read more

Howdy, Well I am in Triascatella or something like that. I want to apologize. To the mountain that is. It is not my bitch. I am it's Hello Kitty. Don't ever fuck with a mountain, they win. yesterday's trek was unbelievable. The sights were great. I took so many pictures but I don't think you can capture the views because it's just to big. The days trek was 33 kilometers but because we got lost walking in the dark we added another 10 kilos. Not bad considering the fact that we added about 20 today via getting lost in the fog and darkness. Now that probably isn't that bad, but remember the Hello Kitty thing? This mountain owns my ass. I am and have made peace with it. Yesterday's food was great. We ate good food. ... read more

Hi, We are in Villa Franca del Bierza in the mountians, It´s a great little mountian town with narrow roads and streets, and mountian streams flowing through it. The buildings all have flower baskets hanging from every window. This country is loaded with flowers and they are in bloom and everywhere. Every possible kind. It really makes the day that much better. I pick a few here and there along the road and then hand them out to the old ladys as I walk and they thank you and kiss you on both sides of your cheek in appreciation. A win win situation. We are in the mountians, but not on the MOUNTIAN. Yes that mountian.... I stress that fact because I keep going up and up this damn mountian and it isnt getting any smaller. ... read more

Hello No rain today. Before I go on, here is my thought for the day. Europeans don't use wash cloths... Fact. How in the hell do you wash your butt? I use shower gel and I think there might be laws against that stuff. I brought one, don't worry. You can smell my fingers wheN I get back if you don't believe me. Yesterday we passed through a small town and went inside the local cathedral to say a quick prayer. Every town has a church and all the bells work and are used on the hour. They protect the alter area by putting a wrought iron gate across the alter so no one try's to steal anything, but so everyone can come in for a quick prayer. Now mind you, this is a very small ... read more

Helllll O , Well after a long wait I finally had lift off. That would be great news had it not been for the fact that I am on a mountain. At the time an open range mountain at that. I'm sure you can get the idea and visual. I survived, but I am traumatized. Sorry BJ I hope you have better success, without the mountain experience. The last 2 days have been somewhat un-eventful.Today we hiked up a very big mountain. Very big, very windy, very cold, and Did I mention Rain..... Yup rain. Throw that all together and it makes for a tough day. About 23 miles total. Now I guess I could bitch and whine, so i will.... No I think I will just be glad that I walked in the clouds today. ... read more

Hello All, Well we are just outside of Astorga, Spain in a town called Santibanez de Valdeiglesia. Yesterday we stayed in a little town called Villarreal de Mazarife. The hospilario (host) is a physical therapist / Shaman. I was not sure exactly what that was but a friend I am traveling with has a bum knee and needed assistance. He came and rubbed it and said some voodoo shit and then put some hemp hair and egg on his knee and he was cured. Personally I think he was smoking the rest of the hemp plant but my friend said it worked and it was his knee so who am I to argue. They were very nice and we had a nice time. The food was great and at the break of dawn off we were. ... read more

Ola, Why do I type Spanish stuff when neither of us know what the hell I'm talking about? Ola=hello. Nuff said. I'm a day out of Leon Spain. Leon is a big city. 140000 that's big in Spain. In the USA, small. Leon was a great place to visit. Again I can try and describe it, but seeing it says everything. The cathedrals are 1200 years old with stained glass? You just can't describe that. This is where the Masons originated. That would be the fraternity Masons, not the trade. Unbelievable. The big cities here don't sleep . With siesta nothing starts up until minimum of 8. That makes it tough when you have a 10 pm curfew. Yes the doors close and lock at that time. If your not there the street can be very ... read more

Ola, Well today we started traveling the Maesta. The plains. We will have 4 more days of walking flat before we get some terrain. We willcross the 300 mile point tommarow. Damn I actually walked 300 miles. Its a lot longer than you think. And yet its been quite short. And to think I did it with a broken finger to boot. This brings a new meaning to picking my nose as it barely fits. Having 8 hours to attempt that feat gives one something to look forward too though. Enough of the booger talk. We have a couple walking who are blind. Blind! If that is not inspiring enough they always seem to be ahead of me. I would give them wrong directions but that is wrong. There is also a woman who has walked ... read more

Well I am 200 miles in Burgos Spain. Castrojeriz Spain to be exact. The other day in Burgos I broke a finger, my booger picker on top of that, pinched a nerve in my neck which hurts like hell and my feet are finally starting to heal. Other than that life has been great. We get up and go at the crack of dawn and are done walking by 1 or 2 depending on the heat. Thank god Scooter told me to take the walking shoes. Then we get into the albegure and wash our cloths and chill and do lunch. Spain has siesta everyday so the world shuts down from 1 to 7 pm. Nothing and I mean nothing is open. All the stores, if any are small. Basic necessities? no washing machines either. Everything ... read more

We ended up in Vianna just in time for their yearly festival. Running with the bulls. So bucket list and feet don't fail me now..... Done did it. Bulls are bitches..... I win. I win with 24 spainards blocking for me. Anyway I have 2365479 more blisters today. I hurt. Sarah papa needs a pedi, on you.... ... read more
