Woke up with a hangover and felt ordinary but pushed through the pain barrier. We walked into the City Centre of Grafton Street to shop for souvenirs. Purchased some amazing little gifts for the girls, family and I. The walk back to the apartment seemed to go forever..... finally arrived home and had a sleep for 3 hours, had to go back out tonight with Jase, so needed the rest. Went to a local Catholic Church around the corner called St Patrick’s, this was an experience, to take communion in Dublin. The Father of the church was great, he was very entertaining and the inside of the church was beautiful. Got back home and Jase was ready to out on the town, we walked up and got a taxi into Temple Bar Alley. This was great, ... read more

We drove to Troon to catch the Ferry across to Ireland, to a place called Larne. We then headed north along the Antrim Coast, North East of Ireland on our way to see the Giant’s Causeway. The drive along the coast was stunning and every chance we got we stopped and took photos, just breathtaking scenery. Went through a small fishing village called Ballygalley, found out that the word Balley means........ “Place of”. The next village was Cushendal, had lunch and went exploring. Walked down to watch a local couple fish off the rocks along the coast, they had not caught a thing but it was great to talk to the locals. The next stage of our Road Trip took us through Ballycastle, passed the Dunseverick Castle and headed down to the Giants Causeway. This place ... read more

Woke up and went shopping in Aberdeen with Becc for our road trip to Troon. It was another beautiful day 18 degrees, cool and cloudy. Packed bags for our four day trip to Ireland and had home-made pizzas on the back deck. Left Aberdeen around 4.00pm travelling east to west across Scotland to a suburb of Glasgow called Hamilton. Spent today getting packed for our road trip to Ireland for 5 days. We are driving out to the west side of Glasgow to a lttle town called Hamilton to stay overnight, then catch the ferry across to Ireland. Our dinner at The Simpsons was delightful, had to open a bottle of Moet champagne which was awesome. Jase and I tried a Scottish dish called "Cullen Skink" which was a thick, milky fish soup was okay but very filling. The rest of the meal was great and Jase's work colleague and his wife were good fun. Left the restaurant & walked & walked through the city & they took me to a typical Scottish pub called Blackfriars in the heart of the city. Had my first half pint of Ale, well it was revolting - flat, ... read more

Really daylight here from roughly 4.00am until 10.30pm at night, not that good if you are wishing to sleep fro at least 8 - 10 hours, but it could be worst. Had a great meal outside in the beautiful weather with Jase & Becc, it's so nice to be around genuine friends who love their life. They are so well rounded and honest its wonderful staying here with them and Will. He is such a little man who is independent and so cute and he has that whole Scottish accent going on, very funny. Got up to a misty, cloudy day around 18 degrees and found out that Becc had arranged for me to have an hour of pampering. Well could not say no to this, went to her local gym and had the most fantastic ... read more

Today Becc took me to my very first castle about 20 minutes outside of Aberdeen. The drive was spectacular, windy roads, forests, and a small fishing village. Arrived to this huge castle of ruins on the edge of a cliff top called Dunnottar Castle. Well breathtakingly beautiful in everyway. probably in describable, walked down a long path and a young boy had his bag pipes out playing them with gusto. Had to give him a pound for efforts. Walked around the entire castle, magnificent. Becc being Becc the photographer could not go anywhere without taking her camera. So I was her so called model for the day and she snapped everywhich angle to get some wonderful photos. Next time I will have to consider getting abit more dressed up when going sight seeing!!!! This was fantastic ... read more

Woke up this morning and felt good about the whole overseas trip, but got down to the airport & then it hit me once I had to say good-bye to my girls, yes the tears started and did not stop until I was around the corner. Plane was an hour late so just had time to think & rest. Managed to get myself together and was one of the last to board the plane, seat 38A and sat myself down next to a gentleman called Jim. Well he was amazing, lets just say he helped me through the flight and gave me all the knowledge I need when I embark on the next leg, flying through to London. We had a few beers and talked and we are now in the qantas lounge having a rest ... read more
