Well we just got back to Madrid, and our flight for the states leaves tomorrow. The flight here was probably one of the worst I have ever been on! First off, it just takes forever to board people on the plane... the take off and most of the flight was smooth, but there was a very loud and very annoying group of people maybe 5 rows behind us that would not shut up. They were yelling and laughing and talking so loud, and would like scream and yell when we were taking off and when there was turbulence... which did not help me. Then we started our decent into Madrid... which was sooo turbulent and of course seemed to last forever. I dont ever remember such a turbulent decent, I mean I have experienced turbulent flight ... read more

Hello all! this is morgan, I havent written in a few days, we have been very busy! :) well on the 23rd we went to the beach, which was really nice. We took the metro down to the beach and then sunbathed for a while. It was pretty crowded where we hung out but not too bad. The water was pretty cold so we did not go in farther than knee-deep. We were there for a couple hours and then took the metro back to our hotel. We changed and then walked down Las Ramblas and found a place outside to eat dinner. The food was really good, seafood and tapas, but the drinks were so expensive!! Andy got a soda and that was 7 euros, and me and dad and mere all got beers, and ... read more

This is Meredith, posting a small blog mainly because it is impossible to fall asleep. Out side of our hotel window there are people littlerally shooting off what must be hundreds of fireworks. I have no idea why they are doing this in the first place but it is one of the most irritating things in the world. I dont know if i should shout at them because i doubt they even speak english. It has been going on for over an hour and no one has called the police so I am assuming that this is a common occurence in the city of Barcelona. Last night right outside of our hotel there was a huge and loud party ensuing. People were litterally screaming the happy birthday song while listening to music like madonnaś "Like a ... read more

Well we haven´t posted a blog for Sunday because we were traveling all day monday and had issues with transferring pictures so here out Sundayś events a little late. We walked down to a very large statue of Don Quixote which was very pretty and powerful, got some pictures of that. After that me and andrea were too tired to walk back so we took the bus while Morgan and Dad walked back, ha ha. Andrea and I went shopping while Morgan rested and ...I not really sure what Dad did, he walked around or something... Then the main event of the day...the bullfight. Now, Dad was really excited for this traditional Spanish event while I....to say the least, was hesitant... Itś not that I get queezy easily (with blood) itś that it seemed so cruel ... read more

This is Morgan. We are finally in Barcelona! we flew here on Air Europa and the flight was ok. It felt like we waited in the airport in Madrid for a really long time... then we taxied for a while, the actual flight was not very long, but the landing was pretty shaky.. I think I heard everybody let out a sigh of releif once we slowed down lol. After we got our bags (which also took forever because they sent the planes bags to the wrong baggage claim station thing..lol) we took a train from the airport into the city, walked a couple blocks and then found our hotel. This is probably the most "modern or whatever you wanna call it" hotel i have stayed in. It is hard to describe so I will just ... read more

This is Morgan!! Hola! this is our last full day in Madrid, we leave for Barcelona tomorrow early afternoon. Last night was a lot of fun, we went to a tapas bar in one of the many small alleys. This alleyway had maybe 4 or so different restaurants, so there were tables and people everywhere. We had really good cheese and traditional cured ham. I also had a cosmopolitan lol, Dad was freaking out that I would not be able to handle it... and Mere had one too and he was freaking out even more about that... but it was good and I was fine lol. It was funny because the whole time we were at the restaurant we were talking to our waitress in Spanish and trying to figure out how to say different things ... read more

Hello! this is Morgan. Today we got up a little later than yesterday and went to breakfast at the same place we did yesterday, it was really good. :) Then we hung out for a little bit then took the Metro to another museum: El Museo Reina Sofia, which was a lot of fun. There was a lot of contemporary, modern, and other types of art... but the best part was we got to see Picaso's Guernica, which I have studied multiple times in Spanish classes and have always wanted to see. They also had a lot of his sketches that preceded that work, studies of different parts of Guernica. It was so cooool! We were in the museum for a while and then went to a Cafe near by to have lunch. I had a ... read more

Hola again! This is Meredith writing....After resting in the morning we got ready and walked to the Museo Del Prado to check out some sweet art works. We went through the exhibitions of El Greco, Velazquez, and Goya. It was really cool, we got one of those dorky audio information things to carry around with us, it helped alot! We saw the famous painting "Colossus" by Goya along with many others. After eating at a restaurant called Vitimina we went back to rest again. After that we walked down to the Palace of the King. Unfortunatley it was closed so we just looked around outside. We ran into some Americans from Texas and California, also some Britains who after finding out we were American said "You people are everywhere!".We wandered around a bit after that and ... read more
