And once again it takes me ages to blog... I know I've promied to blog from the trip to New Zealand. I REMEMBER trying to write several times, creating folders of pictures to upload and show you, but never done it. I think I can explain. But - first thing first.... Last I wrote was from the Israeli airport on our way to my father's dream trip for his 60 years old B-day. We went all 4 of us - 2 women in mid 30's (give a lot or take), sisters and friends, with completely different personalities, and 2 heroes - my father and his partner, both in their 60's (give or take) and using electrical wheelchairs. The plan was flying to Australia and crewsing to New Zealand: * 3 days in Hong Kong, saying HI ... read more

Every time that a roman person gets in his car, he becomes a killer. He forgets about his friends and family whom are targeted by others, he forgets how he felt before he started driving. He sees nothing. He is determent. He has a mission. I wish they where that terminated when it comes to other things in life….. Those of you who know me and whom have driven with me knows I have no issues with cars, driving, traffic etc. I have survived Tel Aviv, Tanzania and Italy for the last 18 months. But they are crazy!!!!! My first visit to Roma was with my father in 2000. He told me that the Rome drivers are considered as crazy. We spent 3 days at the center, with loads of other tourists and I said: “it’s ... read more

45 degrees!!!! And the one that is falling is me. I keep falling from the bike, first time it was due to 45 degrees, me spotting an ice cream shop and forgetting to paddle. The second time was me scratching one of my 2 million mosquito bites and forgetting to paddle. In the first 2 minutes in the campsite near Bologna I got covered with more mosquito bites, I had ever had (now I understand all of you people who always hated me for not getting bitten) GOD!!! I hate those blood sucking bitches!!! And believe me, I am fighting back!!! I have all kinds of ammunition - all natural of course, candles, sprays, cream, I want them dead in the “greenest” way possible. Its basically biological war and so far they are winning. Big time. ... read more

You are right, I didn't write for ages, only now I notice how long its been since I wrote but, you know how it goes with new babies.... Well, I didn't write because It was not the best time of my life, and I usually stay away from people when I am "down", so I did. Sure, some of you would say - what is she talking about she is in FIRENZE... having fun, I wish I was there... some phrases involving God, nuts and teeth (each in his language). But for me it wasn't great I didn't like my self and this period. Looks like I am snapping out of this mood and the best excuse i have for that is that the Firenze chapter is over. So, what do I have to say about ... read more

Roger and I have decided that it is about time to start our own family. We are together for ages in a real and honest relationship: we spent lots of time together at the beginning, now we hardly talk, we used to sleep together, we don't sleep together anymore, I have decided to "do something with myself" and go to university and he feels a little left behind… so we have decided that’s the right thing for "US" is to have a baby. We thought of adopting one from Switzerland, thinking its good for the kid to have his father's culture and a Swiss passport… we found out that it might be too complicated to do, and almost gave up… I said that I am afraid of losing my figure (ha ha ha ha maybe that's ... read more

Few weeks ago, at the menza (the student’s restaurant in our building): Eran: (one of the other 2 Israelis in my class) “I think that she is from Israel” Me: “maybe” (as you know, I am open to every one, from all over the world, when it comes to Israelis - I have to explain them that the fact that we are carrying the same passports, doesn’t say that we are instantly best friends… Few days ago: Eran; “I am sure that she is from Israel” Me: “maybe” - well, she has the Israeli look BUT - - - maybe she’s Spanish…. 3 Evenings ago: Eran (and a little too much alcohol): “can I ask you something?” She (and other 4 guys standing and smiling): “yes” Eran: “Where are you from?” She: “Iran. Teheran” Eran + ... read more

In Yiddish it sounds a lot better. I had a plan. I really did. For the first time in I don’t know how long, I had a plan. The plan was: avoid February in Europe at any cost. I have booked a flight to go back to Israel on the 10/1/08 for about 2 months. The first thing that had happened (as you know) was that my father was hospitalized so I came back 2 weeks before the plan. Then, when my father got better (about 2 weeks ago) we made a trip to the institution of the Italian culture in Tel Aviv. We went to ask for some information about studying in the University for me. The cultural woman was very nice and gave us the answer we knew I would get: “It’s impossible to ... read more

As an Israeli, I’ve always thought of fire as something beautiful, powerful, exotic, fascinating, romantic, dangerous, unpredictable… Our almost only contact with fire is when we have a BBQ, and even then, fire is not wanted, we don’t want to burn the meat (Some of us want only to heat it a little)... Here, in the countryside in Italy it’s a necessity. This is the main way to heat the house, sometimes the way to cook (especially in winter). It’s something that keeps you busy all day and in the evenings. You have to prepare the wood - collect it or buy it, cut it, keep it dry, carry it home. Start the fire, make sure the fire is not to high and not to low, keep feeding wood to the fire, make sure it won’t ... read more
