Hi everyone! This is Lora's Travel Blog. I will traveling in Europe from 10/12 to 10/29, and this is where I'll post my thoughts along my adventure. FYI, this is mostly for family and close friends, and as I am quick to swear and use unsavory vocabulary in real life, so shall it be on travel blog!
Follow me on my trip as I visit Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic and Austria. I'll try to update as often as I can.

Hello everybody! Internet has been hard to come by since Vienna. But here I am, safe and sound and well in München. Prague was incredible. Definitely a place to see again. I could spend a week there just walking around staring up, looking at the towering buildings that have been standing for hundreds of years. They were shooting a fewe movies while we were there! I think Mission Impossible 4, and another film, a German film about Russia. No celebrity sitings, butit was pretty awesome to sneak close and check out all the equipment. For the German one they actually turned a section of Prague into a small Russian neighborhood, signs on buildings, amrkets, outfits, everything Russian. Awesome! We went to an incredible Vegan restaurant called Clear Head (I cant remember the name in Czech, which ... read more

Justin ate some Wiener Schnitzel last night, true to the place. Pretty cool! At the Adagio, which is a crazy hotel well literally every room is its own apartment (marketed as an Aparthotel) and the bed folds in to the wall! Awessooome! On our way out the door to the cemetary to check out Beethoven and Strauss' gravesites. Will update later!... read more

Europe » Czech Republic » Prague » New Town October 24th 2010

Hi everyone! I am so tired this morning, even though it is almost 10 am. My eyes swell up every morning when I wake up and I can't quite figure it out, but it certainly does not help the waking up process. Ok, besides that gripe, we are doing very well. Finally kicking the cold! I've been pushing the water and taking multivitamins and drinking protein powder (thanks to Justin) and I still don't feel 100% but things are looking up. It has been so nice to hear from you all! It is hard only being able to talk to one other person for weeks. We haven't managed to kill each other quite yet. Hopefully that will continue through Friday when I come home! Anyone volunteering to pick up Justin and I from the airport on ... read more

Free free free internet! We love this feature! Just had our first long conversation with another Amercian and couldn't understand a word she was saying! Whoops. The train ride here was fabulous, through Bavarian village in a valley alongside a river. It is a pretty close second in terms of beauty to Switzerland! Going to search for food. Wil update later!... read more

Europe » Germany » Berlin » Berlin October 22nd 2010

It was a pretty good nights sleep las tnight at thee creepy crazy hotel. Looking forward to a more quiet and quaint area of Prague. Lets face it, I am looking forward to Prague in general! Europe » Germany » Berlin » Berlin October 21st 2010

Hello! Guten tag! Alo! Updating from a slightly sleazy internet cafe in Berlin. What is one to do? I have to keep the fam in the loop! Amsterdam was crazy. Everything I thought it would be. Cute little leaning Dutch houses and a ton of small canals, a bajillion bicycles. Seriously those Dutch love their rides and so do I. Cute girls on bikes. It was one of Justins favorite sceneries haha. We didnt get too many pictures though. That is ok. We spent most of our time there just walking pretty much the entirety of the city, which isnt huge, but is a lot for the very limited hours we had there. We went all over, to all the awesome shops and I wished I had brought an extra suitcase for all the stuff I ... read more

Europe » Netherlands » North Holland » Amsterdam October 20th 2010

Hello all! What a crazy few days. We left off in Switzerland, right? Right. So we spent our last day in Switzerland at Grindelwald, a mountain town. We decided to take the Gondola up Mt. First and see if we could break the cloud cover. We did! It was spectacular. View of snow capped mountains floating in a sea of clouds. The pictures came out great! So after spending the rest of our Francs (to get ready for the euro in Belgium) we headed back to Lauterbrunnen. Rough nights sleep for both of us and my cold got worse and worse throughout the night. We finally gave up tying to sleep and got up for our early morning (like, still dark morning) train to Frankfurt. The trains here are awesome. Clean (for the most part) and ... read more

Hello Hello! Safe and Sound in Amsterdam. Feeling right at home and in love with the city. Crazy few days since we left Switzerland! Brussels was not quite as wonderful. Europe » Switzerland » South-West » Lauterbrunnen October 14th 2010

The hotel has free internet access! Every other place has been a struggle to pay for and finish before the timer ends. Though it just kicked me off and I had already typed about 2 paragraphs in this blog. Oh well, I will start over! So here we are in our hotel in Lauterbrunnen. We got here around 2 PM after a scenic train ride through the Swiss countryside. We traveled through Interlaken, which is a town in the middle of two lakes and at the base of the mountains. No words can describe how incredible the landscapes are here. Hills pop out of the land with steep inclines, houses look precariously perched on the slopes and cows and sheep defy gravity grazing on the grass that is still green, despite the temperatures of about 40 ... read more

Alo! We are at the train station getting ready to head to the Alps! I do not have much time to update, but i wanted to share a few things about ZURICH. 1. Lots of shoe stores. Seriouslz. Every other store is a shoe store. Or an H&M. 2. The coffee is incredible. I dont evven like coffee. and seriously, i was able to drink it with just a little sugar. 3. Honor code is big here. We got on the train and no one checked out tickets. People let you paz after oyou are done drinking all your beers, even if you are going outside. and people leave their bags just sitting when they go to the bathroom. Overall we didnt see too much of^Zurich but we did find out that the best places to ... read more
