Da Nang is almost like a coastal Spanish resort. We felt Da Nang was cleaner than other places in Vietnam until we encountered at least 7 rats on our way home. You’re kidding yourself if you come to Vietnam expecting any level of hygiene, unless you’re forking out a lot of money on an isolated resort. Nethertheless, we stayed at Touch Homestay owned by the lovely ‘Jenny’ Chang and her family who really looked after us. After a day of getting painfully scorched in the 100% UV sun, we met up with Jamie and Emily who we’d previously met on the sleeper bus and had dinner/drinks with them. We’re all looking like lobsters; Vietnam sun 1, us English backpackers, 0! They’re great company which is fortunate as nice bars and restaurants are a rarity here. Mind,
