Final Day, you guessed it, breakfast was amazing. I sat in the central area today, even walk to all types of food. There was no cooked salmon, nor smoked salmon today. Not happy Jan. I checked out of the hotel, with the bill added to my card in Australian dollars - nice. Big and small bag in tow, I head off to the training in the convention centre. Training went well, and we covered almost all areas I was interested in, however the last two items were just demo only rather than fully configured on our own laptops. Something to setup once I get home I guess. I repack my bags putting all cables into the luggage bag, leaving the two laptops and external drives in my shoulder bag. I get changed into travel clothes, and ... read more

Breakfast was outstanding as usual. I got to sit over near the juice station, so had to trek for the fruit and pancakes. They are getting used to me. seems that if I leave my spoon in my coffee cup, they wont clear away all my stuff - a trick I learnt from watching the table selection girl that directs you to your table upon entering the food hall. She will confirm the table is ok, then pick up the spoon and put it in the cup, and walk away. Day two of the training - today we will have a full day with the software, installing and configuring, very worthwhile. I learnt a lot, created a lot, got into trouble and out again as required. Getting the hang of running the VM, and even after ... read more

Dad (chauffeur of the year) drove me to the plane and soon enough I was condensed into that humming whining rattling steel teleportation limbo, not sure if this flight was gonna careen into the ground and if I would be pissed off I didn't get to catch the end of whatever the current film was (I had paid for the upgrade to entertainment after all). The ground did look cool though- i like seeing where man has turned the world rectilinear. And where nature is more expressive than that. The movies/tv/games selection was as small as it was bland so a fiery airplane crash death coulda been worse... still always funny to see what words they sub in for swears and I give a little cheer when a swear kinda sneaks through. Also best sub of ... read more

Good evening all, well here I am, all rugged up in my monogrammed robe because the airconditioner wont go any hotter. last night I slept with the doona up round my ears as I left the aircon on all night. I must have rolled over a dozen times as the doona was a shambles this morning, with me cocooned in the middle somewhere. I nearly had to ring for someone to help me untangle me out of the twisted enwrapment of warm duck down. I had intentions of cracking out the ironing board to make myself really look the part for the first day of business. However, after realised that after having a shower there might not be enough time, what with dressing for breakfast, having breakfast, then changing into work gear and heading down to ... read more

The day is a cracker, weather perfect, humid and 28 no rain. I take a short 15 minute shower under a shower head the size of a dinner plate, put on a tshirt and head down to breakfast. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, leaving nothing to want for. The girl asked if i wanted to sit in or outside.... bahaha. To give an indication of size, it was 67 steps from my table to the juice bar, with around 400 glasses laid out in perfect alignment, and my table only around half way across the atrium. Three courses later I roll out of the buffet and return to the room to gather my things. down at reception my tour bus awaits, as we head off to the Batu caves. The humidity is really kicking in and ... read more

The flight to Malaysia was good, easy check in, easy boarding and seating. Was delighted to find the flight was 2 hours less then expected, so arrived earlier than I thought. Watched two movies and some sitcoms after a short nana nap after takeoff. Must have been that before flight drink that kicked in. The three next to me were taking photos on the plane, many out the window but some inside. The flash would go off and it was interesting to see that every awake passenger looked up in unison and thought wtf. Not something one expects to see on a plane flight, rather unnerving for such a simple thing. It is nice though when one of these larger planes take off and land, without the massive roar of the engines and violent acceleration and ... read more

24.09.2012 We got off the plane after the long journey left us a Kuala Lumpur airport. I noticed the heat and humidity as soon as I got off the plane, it hit me like a hot brand in the face. My breathing became heavier already and I started to sweat. First thing I had to do was brush my teeth, the next was get our luggage but the airport had a serious lack of signage, strange for an airport that boasted being voted best in the world for three years. Eventually we made our way to the baggage pickup on the metro trains they had used to link various parts of the airport. We picked up our luggage and packed in them our hand luggage that we had taken on the plane, then was the passport ... read more

23.09.2012 I awoke to the sound of the alarm. The harsh high-pitched bell that rang on Joe’s phone as he slumberly awoke only to press the snooze button allowing another five minutes of sleep. My eyes opened to the ringing only to realize the hangover that had been waiting to rear its sleeping head. I lay for a few minutes in the dark, in the silence that had followed the pressing of the snooze. I was thinking about the day ahead of me. Today was the long awaited day that we leave to travel Asia, our seventeen-hour flight would land in Kuala Lumpur at 1PM the following day. My head throbbed and I felt sick but I rolled out of bed in preparation of my plans. The night before had turned into a very drunk one ... read more
