After a short boat trip from the mainland we arrived to a rainy Don Det island in the middle of the Mekong River. The scenery was unbelievable (even though it was raining) and headed to find a bungalow by the beach with a French girl, Joanne, who we met on the boat. We walked a little way and found a decent place away from the main town right on the river. Once the obligatory dumping of bags was over we headed into the town and found a bar, after spending a bit of time chilling we went to meet Freddie and Yvonne at "Adams Bar". En ce premier jours de Décembre un petit groupe de six personnes ce dessine pour aller explorer ces îles... ( Nathalie, Margaux, Sophie, Sergio, Arthur et moi même ) Une équipe bien motivé avec à peu prés les même objectif excepté Sergio un personnage un peu particulier qui aimé beaucoup les photo de sa personne pour avoir un max de follower sur sa pages instagram, un autre monde mais pourquoi pas ... La visite nous mènent à nos premières cascade du Laos ainsi qu'à quelques petite baignade et point de vue ! Ce sont des paysages assez inhabituel au quels ont prend vite goût. Ja wie fängt man an ein Bericht über ein ganzes Land in ein paar Worte zu packen. Laos in ein paar Worten zu beschreiben wäre vielleicht ein Anfang. Teuer, wunderschöne Landschaften, touristisch, hilfsbereite Menschen. Um diese Beschreibungen verstehen zu können, fang ich mal an zu erzählen was wir alles in Laos erlebet haben. Nach dem "Pai-Lemma" sind wir mit einer Organisation aufgebrochen um die Grenze von Thailand gemeinsam mit einer Gruppe nach Laos zu überqueren. Nach unserer ersten Erfahrung an einer ländlichen Grenze wurden wir mit dem Bus zu einem sogenannten Slowboat gebracht, in dem wir die nächsten zwei Tage unsere Reise auf dem Mekong verbringen sollten. Hi everyone, Well it was another early start for us on Saturday as we left Pakse and headed for Don Det and the 4,000 islands We left around 7am and picked up our breakfast from the Indian restaurant we visited the night before. We also had to go via a pharmacy as Paddy was unwell and they diagnosed his symptoms as gastroenteritis and gave him a cocktail of drugs to take bless him. Very cheap though and he looked like a drug dealer with his pills in little see through bags Lol. Once out of the city we were settling down for the long journey when we pulled off the road to visit the achient monument and world heritage site of Vat Phu monument. As mentioned in my previous blog it was an early start leaving our home stay to head for Pakse. It was a long trip and the endless padi fields and villages along the bumpy roads lay ahead of us. We only stopped for petrol and comfort beaks. We Arrived on the outskirts of Pakse, but continued on to the waterfalls about 20km outside of Pakse. We stopped for lunch which took an age to arrive at it was an overpriced sandwich and no fries! So rather disappointing, but the loo facilities were 4* compared to those we had recently encountered lol. We then headed to the waterfalls which were about a 10 minute walk away.
